If Ernie was smart, he'd be calling Dumars right now while McGee's value is high to see what they'd be willing to offer for McGee.

Honestly, no way would they trade Davis, but I'd certainly do a top 1 protected trade.

What about Gordon+2012 1st (top 1 protected) for McGee+Crawford+Turiaf (expiring)?

Well, they did just see McGee have a BIG game against them.

I'd do it. Gordon is not that great, but he'd help this team more than Crawford. Look at how he helped Rose early on!

And that 1st could be a really freaking good player. Sooo.....

Dumars has done some dumb things in recent years so anything is possible but i highly doubt he would give up this years pick for Mcgee even if we took on a bad contract.

Would NO do a trade like this?

Lewis, Seraphin, Crawford, 2012 second for Okafor, Ariza, Henry, Minn Pick

We take on salary for two more years to get another pick.

NO gets Lewis's buyout to flush out its two worst contracts and foster their rebuild, while trading down in the draft but picking up two young prospects with untapped potential

Send Nick and Crawford to the Celtics for Ray Allen.

I guess you don't appreciate "comedic value" as a viable asset in a trade.

Is that worth more or less than a top-55 protected draft pick?

The best case scenarios IMO would be an expiring for Blatche, a low lottery pick for McGee, a 2nd round pick for Young, maybe some kind of a role player type or another young but so far disapointing player for Crawford/Seraphin/Vesely/Singleton.

Gotta hope that JR Smith signs with Denver again or somewhere other than LA so that Nick for Bledsoe could still be possible.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

My latest:

Pistons trade: Gordon+Bynum+Maxiel (exp) for Emeka+Blatche+Crawford
Hornets trade: Jack+Emeka+Ariza+Minny 2012 1st for Lewis+Bynum+Maxiel
Wiz trade: Lewis+Crawford for Gordon+Ariza+Jack+Minny 2012 1st

NEW LINEUPS:
Wiz:
PG: Wall/Jack
SG: Young/Gordon
SF: Ariza/Singleton
PF: Booker/Vessley
C: McGee/Seraphin

Det:
PG: Knight/Russell
SG: Stuckey/Crawford
SF: Prince/Jerepko
PF: Monroe/Blatche
C: Emeka/Blatche

NO:
PG: Vazquez/Bynum
SG: Gordon/Bellinelli
SF: Henry/Aminu
PF: Ayon/Smith
C: Kaman/Maxiel

WHY FOR THE HORNETS?
1) They save money. Lewis' contract is only garunteed 13 million after this season, so he can be cut. Overall, they save over 35 million in the deal roughly by shedding Jack, Ariza, and Emeka's contracts.

WHY FOR THE PISTONS?
1) They get a much needed big in Emeka who makes roughly the same as Ben Gordon. Emeka will help Monroe's development. They can use the amnesty on CHarlie V.
2) Blatche needa a change obviously. He can be a good 3rd big.
3) The Pistons can try and draft a much needed wing scorer like Barnes or Beal or Lamb with their pick.

WHY FOR THE WIZ?
1) They get pieces that fit next to Wall. Jack provides a much needed backup PG and shooter who can also play SG next to Wall. Ditto for Ben Gordon.
2) Ariza also provides needed shooting and defense at the SF.
3) They get the Minny lotto pick to net another young player in the draft.
4) Jack can be flipped for more young assets next year, while Ariza and Gordon only last 2 more years after this season.

Wiz could get lucky and draft ANthony Davis/Robinson with their 1st pick and then grab someone like Henson/Doron Lamb/Jeremy Lamb/etc. with the Minny pick.

^^
I cant see Detroit sending out Maxiel's expiring to get Blatche

It would have to be

Pistons trade: Gordon+Bynum for Emeka+Crawford
Hornets trade: Jack+Emeka+Ariza+Minny 2012 1st for Lewis+Bynum+Turiaf(exp)
Wiz trade: Lewis+Crawford+Turiaf(exp) for Gordon+Ariza+Jack+Minny 2012 1st

I would send our 2nd rd pick to NO if id have to too.
I would even send the DAL 2nd rdr to DET if we were really getting the MIN unprotected 1st.

What can we get for Blatche when he returns? Wayne Ellington and a 2nd rounder? A bag of chips? I don't want him back... is what I'm trying to say.

Just curious, Wiz fans. Would you give up our unprotected pick for Lamarcus Aldridge? Are you that sure Anthony Davis is a superstar that you wouldn't give up a 12%ish shot at him?

Would you give up McGee and the pick for Aldridge? Seems pricey but I don't know if Portland would even go for that unless they went in to full-on tank/rebuild mode.

Without hesitation. Our odds of landing the #1 pick are pretty slim, so it's really only trading somebody like Thomas Robinson for Aldridge. That's a no-brainer.

I'd do it if there was top 1 protection on the pick.

Yeah, I can't see Portland entertaining any offers for Aldridge. Ya just don't trade a player like that unless you can't keep him happy.

I agree with this. They just aren't going to trade him. Hell yes, to answer your question though. I would make that trade.

If NY keeps it going and Wall keeps looking improved, it is going to kill our tank. Young isn't that good, but we just don't have any other shooters/scorers. Since the general consensus is that Young isn't gonig to be resigned, can we please just trade him now while his value is higher and the tank can be preserved? Someone eloquent and concise should email Ted.

Nick Young can't be traded until March 1st. He also has to agree to the trade since he loses Bird Rights, but I think a team willing to rent him will be a better situation, so that shouldn't be a big deal.
