NBA All-Star 2012 will play host to the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, which will introduce an exciting new format to a game that has historically featured NBA rookies facing off against sophomores. When: Feb. 26, 4:30 p.m. PT
Where: Amway Center
TV: Coverage starts at 3 p.m. PT on TNT

The stars are coming to the Magic Kingdom on Feb. 26 when the NBA stages the 61st All-Star Game from Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.

In a midseason showcase for the NBA, the 2012 All-Star Game will feature 24 of the league's brightest stars. The five starters for the Eastern and Western Conference's teams were selected via fan voting while the All-Star reserves will be named by the coaches.

The 2012 All-Star Game will have a high bar to surpass the excitement of last year's game in Los Angeles that featured Kobe Bryant's MVP performance in front of his hometown crowd.

NBA All-Star 2012 in Orlando will bring together some of the most talented and passionate players in the league's history for a global celebration of the game. This is the second time Orlando has hosted the All-Star Game -- the city played host in 1992 when Magic Johnson came out of retirement to win the MVP in one of the most memorable moments in NBA history.

Those allstar outfits are cringe worthy. Also, I want Blake to grow out his ginger fro. I'd love him for life.

There was a kid interviewing Dwight earlier today. He was answering some simple questions and then the kid asks him about the trade rumors. Everybody laughs, even Dwight. The kid asks, what would it take for Dwight to stay in Orlando? Dwight say's "a lot." Then (I'm assuming it was his publicist) says "and with that note, we're done here" and the interview session wraps.

I love All-Star weekend. One of my favorite times of the year since I'm a huge basketball fan. I will enjoy all the events that are on TV. I went to Jam Session last year when it was in LA and had a blast. Too bad I'm still sick but I will still enjoy all the events that I can watch this weekend.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Blake taking in some knowledge from the greatest winner of all time.

Why Griffin Won’t Defend Slam Title

“Last year I kind of thought like, All-Star weekend is going to be a lot of fun and just walking around doing whatever but it’s not, it’s hectic,” said Griffin. “I’m ready for that and will kind of manage it a little better this year.”

“I got sick. I got real sick and to me it felt like I had a bad month after the All-Star,” said the Clipper forward. “It took me a while to catch up and to really catch my breath and all that so that’s why, that’s the reason for approaching it differently and taking a step back and taking some time off.”

That doesn’t mean he’s any less enthusiastic about making his first-ever start in the All-Star Game.

“[I'm] very excited,” said Griffin. “Last year the best part for me was being able to play in the game; so to be able to play against this year, I’m looking forward to it. At the same time, having a night off, getting some rest and being able to see my family.”

He learned from his experience last year. Great as it was, he decided not to defend his slam-dunk title.

“That’s my one night off and I’m looking forward to spending that with my family and just taking a break,” said Griffin skipping on All-Star Saturday Night.

My bad. Rising stars is on TNT. All-Star Saturday Night is too. I don't know how those work out for you, but I hope you'll get them.
