I never trust foreign websites with NBA rumors because they're wrong more than they're right... but this does make a lot of sense.

I assume LA gives up their first and Dallas' first to Orlando. Some problems I see: Orlando doesn't dump a bad contract, LA still doesn't really have a PG (Barea is good, but not starting PG on a championship team good- and don't tell me started with Dallas as a PG because that was clearly Kidd offensively) and Minny could use a SG/SF in this deal.

I say add Barnes going to Minny and Duhon to LA.

First off, Barea can't be traded

Second, this makes no sense for Minnesota. Pekovic has just started playing great and you are ready to relegate him to the bench and take yourself out of any free agency possbilities for the foreseeable future? Love's contract kicks in next season, and if you add Pau that is almost 40 million on those two alone. Let the young team build together and look to trade Beasley or Williams for a SG so you can move Wes to the 3.

From a lakers perspective, i have a hard time seeing this is the best deal we could get. I don't see why we just don't get Houston involved and do something that nets us Dragic and Scola

IMO, this rumor doesn't really answer the needs of any of the teams involved and seems like one of those video game trades.

Gasol is the engine for the Laker's getting to the finals and winning it before... maybe he has declined some, but he's still good enough (like KG of the Celtics) to be an engine for a championship contender. IMO, the Lakers need to be tweaked at PG and SF and don't need a big overhaul as this proposed deal implies.

The Wolves don't have to get Gasol right now and have more pressing needs on the wings which would make them better.

IMO, the Magic would want some salary cap relief, young talent and draft picks for D12. NJ is the most likely destination since they can offer all three and this rumor could be something to leverage more assets from NJ.

We have to unload a bad contract or two in any deal involving Dwight.

This makes great sense for Minny because it allows them to get drastically better right now, while still allowing them to preserve enough cap space to sign a stud sg/sf this offseason.

There are 96 minutes per game available at the pf/c positions. That's 32 mpg apiece for Love/Gasol/Pek if they each played all 82 games. Since all of them will miss some games, however, and since the healthy members of the trio would pick up the slack and play big minutes in those situations, there are enough minutes available for all three of them to average 35 mpg. You can skew it if you want: give 37 mpg to Love, 35 to Gasol, and 33 to Pek. Or whatever. Point is, there are plenty of minutes available for 3 stud bigs.

Minny currently has bad players like Darko, Tolliver, Anthony Randolph, and Brad Miller getting a combined 40 mpg at the pf/c positions. It would make Minny dramatically better if those minutes were played by Gasol instead.

Also, the move would leave Minny with about $43M in committed payroll for next season. The cap is projected to be around $60-61M. That gives them oodles of cap space to sign a stud wing player or two, which is all they're really lacking. Some candidates that come to mind: Batum, Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Ray Allen, etc. Imagine if they sign both Batum (a great defender and all-around player) and Gallinari (whom Rubio might make look like a superstar).

Rubio/Ridnour
Batum/WJohnson
Gallinari/Webster
Love/Gasol
Gasol/Pek

That right there is a serious title contender, and one that would be positioned to remain so for a decade.

Dude keep thinking that Orlando will settle for 2nd tier players......because that's what they are and all they'll ever be.

XonezIOIzenoX wrote: round picks that can draft players that this team needs rather then some Andrew (Bad Knees) Bynum and some Derrick Williams SF/PF type player who has an upside but it ain't much, oh and his plays are wack and boring.
You obviously didn't watch Williams at Arizona, he looks less than appealing now because the Wolves coach is playing him out of his natural position. He's not a 4...he's a true 3.

XonezIOIzenoX wrote: 1st round picks from houston as well will bring players from Draft that we need to fill in our positions.
How are you so sure Houston get's involved ? Why would they get in this if they're not getting back talent that can help them now ? And I don't know why you're so high on this draft, hell NBA scouts aren't that high on this draft. After Davis and Kidd-Gilcrest, it's going to level out and nobody is coming in helping a team that quickly.

Bottom line is this... the Magic don't want Lopez...bank on that, and again I'm on record in this thread earlier saying this trade won't happen. Also I'm not one who feels Howard will end up in LA either, I don't know how it'll end for him or the Magic.

If anything, the Wolves are going for the wrong Gasol at this point in time.

So Minnesota crowds up their front court while leaving Wesley Johnson as their best wing player, lmao.

good trade for all

#1,,,lal. they get howard and barea

#2,,,minn. gasol + kluv + rubio

#3,,,orlando. getting bynum is as good as they can expect. a trade they have to make. no team trading away a superstar ever gets equal compensation.

minn has a plethora of useless sf/pf's. beasley will never take any team any where. dwill is 7/4 - are you kidding!

Ahhh yeah keep making yourself believe that kid. The minute you said Brooks was better than Williams, basketball IQ sunk to levels of transparent.
