You mean giving up a goal in the first 13 seconds, two in the first two and half minutes didn't set the course of this game? Not to excuse MacArthur but you can't give up goals that early like that.

I almost wish, as I posted several times that Burke had taken first rounders for Grab and either Kulemin or MacArthur, called up Colborne and Kadri and let them play out the season with full carte blanche to just go play. But Wilson won't do that, he's been horrible for the development of young players.

What about a Kadri for Kassian deal. I would do it. Leafs get size and a future top 6. Sabres get a skilled future top 6.

It was a bad start, but after that we were outplaying them. At home, I liked our chances to erase the deficit. We got within one, and then Mac runs a guy from behind into the boards. I thought that 3rd goal kind of deflated the comeback.

Personally I like Grabbo and Kulemin a lot. I'd like them to be on the team for a long time and I don't think they're the problem. I still think there's plenty of time to make the playoffs, so I'd rather see what these guys can do than pack it in.

It's crazy how close the East is right now.

4 points separate the Leafs from 8th in the East, and going the other way, 4 points separate the Leafs from 14th.

A small 3-4 game win streak could put us in the playoffs, or a small 3-4 game losing streak could net us a top 5 pick.

I don't think it's a matter of not liking either Grabo or Kulemin. But the picks coming back would have been a good asset to add and I still think Colborne is better long-term as the second line centre so why not give him 20 games to see how he does along with Kadri. Just play the crap out of them. It's also why I'd fire Wilson now, he seems to have lost the team and bring Eakins up to give him a chance to see what he can do at the NHL level as a coach.

Highly doubt we beat the Hawks, but I think the Leafs will play better than yesterday's game

Toews is out, might give us a glimmering hope.

Yeah...this team isn't making the playoffs. On the bright side, we'll have a high pick in a pretty good draft.

Leafs could literally go from 1st to worst this season... that is just horrible and mind blowing.
Raptors were tanking this year I think almost everyone knew that. But Leafs have no excuses, they planned to win and is falling faster than a skydiver.

This is year 4 of Burke's 5 year plan to turn us into perennial contenders.

Wilson is as good as gone now. Time to start a new coaching search. I vote for Steve Kouleas.

very disappointed leafs fan here but this sort of collapse is what we've come to expect here in losertown. the only thing that was going to prevent this team from making the playoffs this season was one of these epic slides and it happened and there is no end in sight with a brutal schedule coming up. just a failure on everyone's part as per usual. i mean it's not like they're down in the dumps -- and i do expect some resiliency -- but there have been way too many blown games and lost points to say they even deserve to be a playoff team anyway.

I'm sick of hearing the whole 'all the players thought they'd be traded, that's the reason why we're losing' nonsense from the team. Sorry, but it's trade deadline day for every player in the league.

1 win in the past 11 games is unacceptable. I don't know what it's going to take to fire Wilson. I was a supporter throughout the season, but he's completely lost this team, and unfortunately, it's time for a change. When a coach loses a team the way he has, there's no looking back. There's a young coach (Dallas Eakins) with the Marlies that looks poised to be a great coach in this league. Give him a crack at it. I'm usually not a supporter or hiring rookie coaches in large markets, but he's going to be a keeper.

I made the comment elsewhere, but Burke really needed to pick a direction to go in at the deadline. He could've tried to improve this roster, or acquired young assets for what we have. He chose to do nothing, and the team is at a standstill.

Our special teams just... suck. It is killing our chances of winning games and the constant turnover brainfarts is making life hell for Reimer/Gust.

I found it funny how Wilson came out and said he won't throw guys under the bus... but he's been doing it all season before February. Burke needs to remove him and get someone like Marc Crawford in. Its sad that our 4th line (mainly Steckel/Brown) seems to be the only line where guys are going 100%. The rest of our team looks a step or 2 behind on every play

Exactly, I'm sick of the excuses. I'm happy with Burke and the accumulation of assets over the past several years, but Wilson has been an utter failure. I don't mind Burke not making trades, better to do nothing for a mini run than this crap. Had we made a run, Wilson might have come back.

The 4th line cost us last night's game. Wilson is an idiot for leaving those guys in against Kane's line. They had like 3 goals against, and 3 more golden chances.

That was a tough loss. Chicago just manhandled us in the third period of that game. It also kills me to see Stalberg and Versteeg playing well. What a bust of a trade. Liles hasn't looked the same since he's come back from his concussion. Glad we locked him up long-term  . I don't like Wilson, but he's hardly the problem. These guys want to make the playoffs. They haven't quit on the coach. They're a finesse team that can't score tough goals and their defense is too young. They're also putting out a minus player 26 minutes a game just because he's their captain. His friggin' defense partner is sitting at 0 and Dion is somehow a -8.

On the plus side, I thought Frattin played well. He looks like a good, solid third line player that can put up 10-15 goals and deliver some hits. They should have never sent him down.
