I actually like Lee... who at one point was an all-star... he puts up borderline all-star numbers... it's just that his contract is utter crap (which would explain why GS would want to move him... him or Biedrins)... he's still only 28 or 29 years old though... does his contract have a team option or anything in it?

I do like Lee's game... ever since I watched him in high-school and then at UF back in the day... but man, that contract :nonono:

Wasn't he talking about Courtney Lee?

Did GS reportedly offered Ellis for Luol Deng?... I'm on monitter.com (search some terms like "Orlando trade", "Magic trade", "Dwight trade", "Ellis trade" to find rumors) and I'm getting a lot of people saying that there was an offer but the Bulls declined.

Ahh he is... I must have assumed he meant David Lee... I missed the SG part

With out being a blind Homer he's more like Allen Iverson imo...With out your Super Big Gulp sized haterade sitting in front of you, you'd compare him to Francis or Marbury? Stevie Franchise is a good comparison maybe not Stephon... for me anyway.

Allen Iverson is one of the most talented players to ever play basketball. Monta is not on Iversons level. The dude led a crappy Sixers team to the finals. Monta is an in his prime Arenas at best. He is not a superstar, he is not an all star, he is a tier 3 guy with the likes of Josh Smith, Granger, Kevin Martin, etc. But he does most likely keep Dwight around, so you do what it takes to get him

They declined because that is a terrible trade for Chicago.

I believe they offered this last summer. I am also reading some rumblings it might be on the table again. It did involve a draft pick if I remember correctly. I posted about it in one of the 13 threads, the exact trade, but I heard GS turned it down.

I think an ideal fit would be JSmoov....with prob Iggy close behind.

A team of

Monta
JRich/JJ
JSmoov/Iggy
?
Dwight

would be pretty nasty. Got your scorer, your shooter, your wing defender, your rebounders and interior defenders.

The reality, though is that we may have to give up Ryan to obtain a guy like Ellis. Also, what do you think JSmoov/Iggy would command in the first year or their next contracts? Somewhere in the range of $11-$13mil a year? Is it financially feasible to have enough caproom in 2013 to sign one of those guys if they opt out? Other suggestions/moves?

what is your full roster look like MagicFan41 do you still got this guy on your team DeAndre Liggins and who is your pf you got on your roster?

Ya Ellis is not close to iverson...I do think that he is the quickest guy in the league though...not the fastest but the quickest and he is pretty fast btw lol...and I do think he will be an all star if he played on a winning team in the east

Glad you are relieved. So without the heart shaped box of chocolates addressed to Monta Ellis in front of you, you'd compare him to Allen Iverson? A prime Iverson?

I would have to say Stevie also. Seems like Monte doesn't see a shot he don't like either. But, he does pass more than Francis even when playing SG. Maybe he can adapt. At least that is what we though of Mr. Franchise.

An in-his-prime Gil was absolutely a superstar. Do you guys not remember what he was?? Don't just say "some guy who chucked up 40 shots a lot". Also, I think he is more of a poor man's Rose than either Iverson or Gil. Nothing wrong with a poor man's Rose though...

James, Wade, Howard, Durant, Rose, Kobe, Melo, CP3, Dirk are superstars, in his Prime Gil or Monta are not SUPERSTARS. The word superstar is tossed around way too loosley. A superstar is a franchise player. Sorry but you cannot build a team around a guy like Monta or Gilbert Arenas. They are both fringe All Stars....tier 3 guys!

Prime Gilbert was a superstar. He always had those Wizards teams in the playoffs and even got them to the second round I believe. If you consider Melo a superstar, prime Gil definitely was.

How many All NBA 1st teams did Arenas make? How many All Star games? How many 2nd team All NBA squads did he get named to? Westbrook is close but he isnt there yet. And I will give you that Melo is the weakest on the list. But a couple bad games in NY and how quickly people forget how good he actually is. He was the Denver Nuggets by himself for a lot of years.
