It's the worst half of basketball John has played in a long time. And he's not exactly playing against swift point guards in Blake and Fisher. He's just off on every pass and shot and they aren't giving him his drives.

Against Mcgee Bynum can get right to the rim.

Wall is passing just fine to me. He does seem hesitant to create his own offense though.

Misfire on 3-2 with Blatche, poor pass stolen by Kobe. Is dribbling right into traffic.

UPDATE: HALFTIME STATS

-Bynum has 10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, 4 turnovers. (17 minutes)
-McGee has 6 points, 8 rebounds, 0 turnovers. (14 minutes) This one is not on McGee.
-Javale and Booker have 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 0 turnovers. Only 2 fouls total.
-Bynum and Gasol have 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 turnovers.
-John Wall: 0 points, 5 assists, 4 turnovers (16 minutes)
-Derek Fisher: 7 points, 3 assists, 1 turnover.

Kobe has 20, and Crawford has 10. Their backcourt starters are the difference of 17 points. Lead is 15.

Blake and the Laker bench have been very productive. The Wizards bench has been okay. Miserable half by Wall and just Kobe being too good is the difference. I thought he'd own Fisher.

He also had some beautiful feeds and has five assists despite teammates bricking quite a few shots.

I'll grant that he dribbled into traffic a few times (and was manhandled by a hands-happy Laker's defense each time), but that's not exactly passing the ball is it?

Well you can't blame Vesely, who didn't play. Or Ovechkin, who's in the stands.

Stats don't tell the whole story. The perimeter defense, interior defense, secretary of defense and help defense was awful. They couldn't even score against Detroit the night before but against us...

Lakers announcers: 1st announcer: "John Wall is just down." "He's in a sophomore slump."
2nd announcer: "Nothing about down is being out of control and not being able to finish at the rim."

Wall has been really good lately, and I'm shocked he's having a bad half after last game.

 @ booker holding his follow on that 3. He did that on Sat too. He made a jumper and held his follow through while he was running back down the court.

And don't ignore the fact our SGs, Crawford & Young are a combined 7-22 fgs and 0-8 from 3 pt range for 16 pts total.

I expect Wall to bounce back in the 2nd half but as long as our SGs continue to be incredibly selfish, with terrible shot selection and wretched inefficiency were are always going to operating from a point of weakness.

Crawford with 13 shots, Nick 9. They aren't shy.

He was HORRIBLE. You can dissect it 19 different ways. So hopefully he bounces back in the 2nd. The guy has been terrific the last month. He's allowed to have one bad half or game.

Most of Crawford's shots have been open looks. He has to knock down those shots or sit down. Randy gives him an incredibly long leash.

Wall could be averaging 19, 8 & 5 with excellent efficiency over basically the last 2 months and people will still say he's in a sophmore slump.

Oops, wait, he is. lol.

The Laker announcers are killing me now. "You wonder how bad Jan Vesely is. He cannot even get in the game?" Second guy, "...Or, he could be a bad pick."

"They look as if they don't want to be here. They look like they're playing at Venice Beach."

1st guy: "Am I right in suggesting this has been the most uneventful game we've done."
2nd guy: "What about that game we did in Charlotte?"
1st guy: "Yeah, those two are by far the worst teams in the NBA"

"This is the worst NBA game I've ever done"

The other guy is more compassionate. He's noticing the Wizards' body language. "I feel bad for the Wizards."

"The city of Washington is a fine city. But the Wizards are one awful basketball team."

Return to Washington Wizards
