As a Magic fan, knowing that he's probably going to end up with the Nets. Just do the Brook Lopez/Brooks/Drafts Picks deal with them.

There isn't going to be a better deal on the table for him at this point.

Have to remember the Nuggets were also sending Billups. Even still that trade was ridiculous. The Melo trade will end the thinking that the team that got the best player will win the trade.

If your the Nets are you giving up all that when you know all the Lakers can offer is Bynum. If you don't trade him Dwight could sign Brooklyn without giving up anything.

Dwight should have been shipped off a long time ago. The window just gets smaller and smaller.

I really don't understand how people can say that Denver has come anywhere NEAR winning the trade vs the knicks. The Knicks traded Gallinari, Felton, Mozgov, and Wilson Chandler for Anthony, Billups, Sheldon Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman. Gallinari is a solid role player at best, Raymond felton is scrubbing it up in Portland, Mozgov is well mozgov nothing more than a borderline NBA player, and wilson chandler is no longer in the league (hes in china). The knicks did not trade one player of any value to acquire Carmelo Anthony besides maybe Gallinari, but he is still not that good at all. The Nuggets were a team that was put together very well to begin with. The only reason people think they won the trade is because most of the world thought they would collapse after they traded away anthony. But lets face it. Anthony was not their entire team and they got subpar pieces in return that have allowed them to stay somewhat relevant.

They tried to make a deal with those pieces earlier this season.

They could do what the Knicks did with Carmelo, when they pretty much were scared that the Nets were in the running and traded EVERYBODY.

But you have a valid point though.

Utah did it the correct way. Trade the present for a future.

I would like to see one person say that they would make the trade of Melo, Billups, AC, Balkman, and Sheldon Williams for Gallinari, Mozgov, Chandler and Felton.

It would be a better team with Chandler added.

So they basically want the Knicks to trade with them? Knicks are the only team that I will give up good young players for one one above average player.

I think they would have to add Jordan Williams just for backup C duties & to make the trade fair. Those two picks aren't going to be worth much when they're mid twenties at best.

Did you hear the (Please Use More Appropriate Word) offers they were getting at the beginning of the season?

Lopez/Wallace for Dwight/Duhon?

As if they couldn't make that same deal right now if they wanted to. Trading that early is never smart, waiting like Denver did is the best option.

i love how last year it was all about how the knicks package is garbage compared to the nets and it was a bunch of B list players, now it's way too much to give up in a trade
