I want a trade for a first round picks. That Andrew Bogut trade scare me a lot. I would not do it unless their first round pick is in it. Boson needs a big man we should give up Andray and a filler for Juan Johnson and a first round pick.

^ I love the GSW and NOH deals on this page, but they seem kind of far fetched IMO. I just don't see McGee having that kind of value.

hermitkid wrote:The Celtics have nothing of value to offer to us.

I wouldn't say that. They've got a first round pick and some small-to-mid expiring deals (excluding KG and Allen). Plus JaJuan Johnson and Avery Bradley, depending on how you rate them.

McGee+Blatche for JO+Bradley+first?

Not as good as some of the other deals discussed on this page, but a bit more realistic IMO.

Celtics have a McGee trade thread and about half think a McGee-Blatch trade would be good. Thet mention Bass, a first round pick and filler to make it work. I like Bass and would love another first round pick.

I already put my Boston trade up a few pages back.

Nick and Dray for Ray Allen.

Which way ? Us to them or them to us.

I think the deal work well straight up. I posted this all a few pages back regarding how and why.

I do not want Ray Allen without at least a pick involved in the deal.

So, back to Mr. Wilson, why has no one signed him yet?

Also re: Blatche, Young for Allen; I would do that in a New York minute. No picks or other players involved. Using Young to move Blatche and his contract? Thats killing two dodo birds with one trade!

Ray Allen wouldnt even need to get sized up for a Wizards uni. He wouldnt even need to get on a plane, he would be bought out immediately. You just dont subject a guy like that to this Wizards team. It is disrespectful.

He'd probably go to Chi town, perfect fit, he could put them further over the top.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

We dont need a pick. We already have picks and young players.

We would have mad cap space. This team could get rebuild this summer. Not the long slow kind but a ready made playoff team.

They would have like 16M used up in salaries before making any decisions.

I guess you had made a point there. It won't hurt to ask for it. Boston want big men badly and if we can give up Andray and young for it that would be good. Remember teams make desperate move when the deadline near. So let's hope the same thing happens with Boston or any team we trade with.

Especially with Chris Wilcox out indefinitely with his heart problem. Blatche = Wilcox, pretty much.

Well, i appreciate the respect you have for Ray, I do also. But I would want him to come here. Just like I want Dray to go to Boston to get trained by KG himself, I want Ray here because I want him working with our next SG. Bradly Beal.

Rays time will not be wasted because this team can go all out in FA this summer with tons of cap space. They would be right in the mix of it next year.

And Ray would feel right at home. Just down the coast and a few Boston games a year when there are lots of fans that would love him both home fans and Boston fans that come to visit.

Took a look at that website, and went straight to their article "5 trades that make sense but would never happen"

Yeah. Theres a pretty good reason why pretty much NONE of those trades would happen. Only 1 of them is good for both teams, barely. I particularly enjoyed Pau + Blake for Granger, West and a 1st. Someone call Indianapolis SVU because a rape just happened, and LA is a prime suspect (again).

hands11 wrote:I want Ray here because I want him working with our next SG. Bradly Beal.

...We already drafted him?

But seriously... Ray Ray is expiring. There is no way he would sign on here another year afterwards. He would sooner retire. Keeping him around the rest of the season and not offering a buyout would just give the league + media another opportunity to fling poo in our direction. We've had enough of that. We bought out guys like Bibby and Z who arent half of what Ray Ray is to the league.

Totally different situation then Bibby and Z. That team was in the middle of a blow up. This team in at stage 2 of a rebuild.

You are ignoring the scenario I laid out.

Resigning him would be dependent on an very active rebuild this summer using a chunk of the massive cap space we would have. And if he didnt resign, so what. Not like they are going to resign Nick nor do we want him here moving forward. And it moves Dray and his contract. And, his experience in bringing together multiple vets with a young PG would be ideal.

It's not like he is winning it all where he is. That team had its run. OKC and Chicago are the new teams on the rise. Dallas, LA and SA are the older dogs and Miami is the team in its prime. Boston doesn't really stand a chance.

Trying a multi-team trade that sends out McGee, Blatche, and Young without taking back any more immediate or long-term salary and gets a mid-1st this year in return. Any serviceable players coming in return (decent vet PGs, 3+D wings, etc.) on contracts shorter and cheaper than Blatche's are OK, but ideally in this scenario, all players coming back are expirings. Surely LR will have one in seconds.

There's a site somewhere (maybe more than one) that lists teams' long term assets, picks, exceptions etc. I can't seem to locate. Anyone have a name or link? Thanks.

Not sure, monte, but I use these two sites.

Thanks CCJ. I use those and the Trade Checker, but none of these serve as a quick reference for present and future picks and other assets that might make a trade feasible. Someone posted a link to one that was a simple team-by-team list of non-player assets, and I thought I bookmarked it, but now can't locate it.

I was thinking of a variation of Hands11's trade, McGee/Young for Ray Allen and pick, depending on what picks Boston has, although the Blatche/Young for Ray Allen's expriring and any future first (or even a high second) would seem pretty good.

Considering Blatche is a liability not an asset, and Young is close to worthless as an expiring, I'd be really surprised if we could unload them together for anything.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.
