The more I hear about this deal the more I really don't like it. Not that it hurts us in any way, but I thought we should have gotten more. How do we end up tossing in the better players (yes I would rather have Eyenga than any of the crap that the Lakers tossed in) and then only get the 1st and they get an option to switch picks. Are you kidding me? Sure there is no way that the Lakers have a better team than Miami, but it's the principle of the trade that I'm talking about here.

was really hoping it's our choice to swap and not theirs, make that Heat pick become like 20th instead of 29th.

This is from Windhorst.

Correction from earlier: In Lakers-Cavs trade, it is Cavs who have right to swap Heat pick they own with Lakers pick in 2013.

Very happy with the trade, but the Lakers cant have any injuries this year, they have to make the playoffs or we wont be getting the pick this year. It looks like we will have our lottery pick and an early 20's this year and IF we dont make the playoffs next season we should have the same. Not thrilled with us having Luke Worthless, but how much worse can he be than Casspi?

Okay, because now it actually makes sense.

We already rooted against the other LA team for part of a season. Let's get another #1 overall pick from LA!

I am cool with the Sessions trade. We'll lose more without him and would have lost him at the end of the year.

The other thing is Jamison is still with the team. It looks like with Sessions gone, AJ will be shooting more.. Maybe that will lead to more losses. Who knows?

Question about Draft Day trades.

I was wondering, since we will presumably hold Antawn Jamison's Bird Rights, if we could sign and trade him along with our Lakers First and/or New Orleans Second for a higher draft pick?

I'd think their might be some teams, maybe fringe playoff types, that could use his particular talents at an obviously reduced rate.

I have no idea how it works.
Thanks.

One concern I have about this deal is, we could at some point during the rest of the season have this lineup on the floor.

Kyrie at the point,
Kapono at the 2
Kasspi at the 3
Walton at the 4
and Hollins at the 5

If that happens, Kyrie may kill himself.

We will never have that lineup on the floor.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

On the bright side, using that lineup will ensure that the Cavs are tanking.

Yes they could but a) teams aren't going to be lining up to pay him much more than the MLE and b) teams aren't going to be lining up to give up higher draft picks for a 34 year old (as exhibited by the lack of trade at the deadline)

edit: whoops, turns out he's going to be 36. lol ya that doesn't help.
