Re: Discussing Other NBA Games 2.0
Kris Humphries, against Toronto had a monster game: 16 points, 21 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 3 steals
He seems to be playing his best basketball and might be actually improving at age 27.
The Wizards could use a player like him next to McGee. I think Booker is smallish and a bit light on the boards, except when he makes a point to rebound. Some of the bigger guys like Humphries are plodders who do more pushing and positioning.
I won't count out Booker improving, and of course, he's a much more explosive player than Humphries.

Re: Discussing Other NBA Games 2.0
Forget Andrew Bogut and even Dwight Howard. Milwaukee's got triple double machine Drew Gooden at center. He got 13 assists in less than 30 minutes last night - giving him 20 assists for the last 2 games. This is a guy in his 10th NBA season - with a career average of 1.2 assists per game. Some things are just inexplicable. Or maybe a player gets typecast year after year and never gets the opportunity to show certain skills?
If you have the Gooden/Ilyasova combo on your fantasy team, you're probably winning your league - unless you also have the Amare/Melo combo.

Seems appropriate that on the same night McGee was traded for Nene, a player who EG passed up for Oleksiy Pecherov had a pretty decent night.
16 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 8 steals for Paul Millsap
Paul Millsap nearly triple-doubled with steals (8) on Thursday, scoring 16 points on 7-of-17 shooting with 11 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.

The Heat are the Sixers kryptonite. Phily should just forfeit if they end up drawing Miami in the playoffs.

Re: Discussing Other NBA Games 2.0
George Karl, didn't even play him much. Inexplicably bad coaching.
Kenneth Faried came in in the fourth and absolutely dominated the Celtics. He played as well as Rodman, Ben Wallace, anybody could play. The Manimal was beast out there.
In the last 3:20, the guy had 8 or 10 points and 4 rebounds.
Faried went 5-5FG, 8-8FT and check this out-- 18 points and 16 rebounds in 23:36.
George Karl is just trying to build desire in the guy because he has to know that is one of the best basketball players he has EVER seen. If he plays 40 minutes, he's capable of a 30 - 30 game.

Re: Discussing Other NBA Games 2.0
DENVER -- Kenneth Faried has impressed the Denver Nuggets throughout his rookie season.
"We don't close this game out without Kenneth," Denver coach George Karl said. "I was impressed with him the whole game, but I really loved him the last three or four minutes of the game."
Danilo Gallinari scored 20 points and Faried added 18 points and a career-high 16 rebounds to lead the Nuggets past the Boston Celtics 98-91 Saturday night.
"He outworked us, getting 11 rebounds in the first half," Boston coach Doc Rivers said. "He had a rebound late in the game that was just an effort rebound where we had inside position and he outran us to the ball."
It was the sixth double-double in the past 13 games for Faried. Arron Afflalo added 15 points for Denver, which has beaten the Celtics seven of the past eight times in Denver.
"I did alright by playing with my heart," said Faried when reminded of his 5-for-5 shooting from the field and 8 of 8 on free throws added, "I'm not content. I want to do better."
What a winner, this will hurt us for a generation. At-least we have Vesely and Singleton

Discussing Other NBA Games 2.0
Yeah the Faried pick has irked me from draft night.
Was such a no brainer the guy would be a very solid pro. Felt the same about Millsap and Blair.
Ugh.

Kobe shot 3-20 in LALs loss to the Utah. Steve Blake went scoreless in 27 minute of play.
I bet Bryant is steamed that Blake wasn't traded and Fisher was.
Also, Kobe's definitely hit some kind of wall lately.

Mullins retirement ceremony sullied? Don't know, but you gotta give the Warriors fans some credit for voicing their displeasure with the direction of the franchise after years and years and years of loyal fan support.
That Ellis trade was a disgrace.

Epic meltdown and choke by the Suns. The Heat score 17 straight points in the 4th to come from behind and win. Terrible.

chokejob by the Lakers. Kobe shoots 10-27 and his bigs shoot 17-25 (although Bynum got ejected)
I think the Lakers are saving their amnesty for Kobe... not Ron Artest.

Actually, no. I give the Warriors "fans" zero credit for ruining the jersey retirement ceremony of one of their all-time greats. No class -- as Rick Barry correctly pointed out. No sense of time and place. How can they expect their team to have a sense of timing and the moment when they have none of their own? I hope everyone who booed gets heckled at their kid's birthday party because hey, free speech, right?
And their butthurt over trading away Monta freakin' Ellis? A guy they have won NOTHING with? A guy that lost a season and nearly more to a reckless mo-ped injury?
So yeah, F them. I hope they suffer for another 30 years. or I hope the team moves to Seattle. Classless losers.

I may be wrong, but I believe said owner had also talked recently about moving the team, Fish. That would be a fairly acceptable reason to boo a guy.

Re: Discussing Other NBA Games 2.0
We should start an "It's hard to believe, but..." thread. I'm way too lazy to do it.
It's hard to believe, but the team with the NBA's longest current winning streak is... Milwaukee with 6 - 2 more than anyone else (including the Knicks - who they're fighting with for the last Eastern playoff spot). And it's hard to believe, but... their starting front court is Gooden, Ilyasova, and Delfino.

Re: Discussing Other NBA Games 2.0
Or how about, Scott Skiles doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves. Great coach that's been done wrong on a few of his previous stints.
Good to see him making the best out of his coaching purgatory.

Re: Discussing Other NBA Games 2.0
Yeah, if the Bux make the playoffs this season, he deserves consideration for coach of the year. If anyone suggested at the beginning of the season that a front court of those players could start for a playoff team, they would have been asked - in what sport? They'd have a better chance at volleyball playoffs.

Skiles is in the same mold as Larry Brown and Doug Collins. He's a fantastic coach but he has a short shelf life because he grates on his players after a while.
