The Golden State Warriors suck.
Because they suck, they are always looking for a way not to suck.
No one wants to trade for their sucky players, so there's no help there.
Switching coaches has made no real difference, they still suck.
Who? Who can help them not suck?
Maybe the D-League? Maybe Europe?

The new guy sucks a little less than the mess on the bottom end of their bench.

I think Jeff Foote could play in the NBA if he worked ridiculously hard with a personal trainer for an entire offseason. I remember watching him at Cornell - he was a legit 7'1 with a thick build and had good skills shooting and passing - and just played smart. But obviously the foot speed wasn't there. But it wasn't there with Marc Gasol or Hibbert, either until they got in great shape.

I saw an LA DLeague game a month or so ago. I think they had the top 3 guys in steals on the LA team - and steals are basically the only defense I've seen in these games. But Elijah Millsap impressed me as a guy who can really defend on the wing - good size, strength, energy, and long arms. He's got 3 point range - if he can just be more consistent there, I don't see why he can't play in the NBA. He can do what Wes Matthews does.

It would be a good tanking move actually, start calling-up guys on 10-days for try-outs.

Washington is expected to call-up Edwin Ubiles from the Dakota Wizards over the weekend, according to a league source. The Wizards had a pair of roster spots open following this week's trade along with the release of Hamady Ndiaye last month.

Ubiles has been one of the best prospects in the D-League all season as the 25-year-old swingman is averaging 20.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 50 percent from the field. That comes on the heels of his being one of the more important players on the Puerto Rican National Team that won a gold medal at last summer's Pan-Am Games.

Those accomplishments are quite impressive for the former member of the Siena Saints considering this is his first full season of professional basketball after sitting out the majority of last season with a stress fracture in his right tibia.

Top Player: In this case, I think I'd go with Edwin Ubiles of the Dakota Wizards. He isn't a finished product considering the Siena alum is only his first season of professional basketball, but it has to be hard for teams already out of the playoffs to resist taking flier on the 6-foot-6 wing.

The smooth small forward seems like he'd fit well in a complementary role on an NBA roster and his averages of 20.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 51 percent from the field show that he's capable of doing a little bit of everything.

Ubiles sounds physically close to Nick Young - measured at 6.5.75 without shoes and just about a 6'10 wingspan - was compared to John Salmons. He was a solid shooter at Sienna. If he shows he can hit 3's, he should stay in the NBA.

GSW calls-up Keith Benson, didn't know he was released by ATL and went to the D-League. Benson is a bit thin, but I wouldn't have minded us taking a look at him. Benson has Vesely's measurements and an offensive game.

Singleton kicked butt in China--his team almost won it all. He's more ready to contribute than 90% of the PFs, even in a deep PF draft.

This is a very solid move. I thought Ernie's best moves happened right after he tore down the Pollin years players. Singleton and Livingston played some good ball for the Wizards. I am happy to see this. Right along with getting Cartier Martin back, we know Singleton can play at a high level.

The Jazz will sign Blake Ahearn of the NBA Development League’s Reno Bighorns to a 10-day contract.

Ahearn is expected to practice on Tuesday and will travel with the Jazz when the team faces the Rockets on Wednesday.

A 2012 D-League All-Star selection, Ahearn (6-3, 190, Missouri State) appeared in 37 games, all starts, for the Bighorns this season, averaging 23.8 points, 5.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 37.5 minutes.

EG has really tapped the DL the last two years. Glad to see Martin back and while Singleton was not a DL, glad he is back. Wonder what Jeffers is up to. Is the knee better yet ?

I enjoy watching Singleton play. I give credit to our front office for keeping in touch with him (and Martin) and bringing him back. Barring us winning the top pick, I think it makes good sense to bring him back next season, for the right price.
