i stayed up to 3 am and while i did i was contemplating picking him up, but thought i could flip some relievers for a starter.

Yeah, i have Konerko to replace Pujols which isn't a terrible replacement, so i wasn't upset about losing Pujols that much, + i needed outfielders as well as pitchers, Pence is a pretty solid replacement.

It was a great deal for him. It would've allowed him to get rid of the crappy Desmond and Alonso, and keep his other stars.
