CZeller staying in school, no big surprise.

"I grew up hoping that one day I would get the opportunity to play in the NBA, but at this point, I'm not ready for my college experience to be over," said Zeller.

No problem with that actually. Medic/Mufasa how do you feel? IIRC you both seemed high on Cody. Better for Zeller? Or should he have come out this year.

I'm not really concerned about Zeller's stock personally though I kind of expected him to out this year. I could see his stock rising next year but at very worst, it'll stay the same and he would have added a bit more seasoning to his game. I'm actually more concerned about what that means for the tank...

Some player(s) might get pushed up into the lottery and our guy could end up going higher now that the lottery has lost a little depth.

^^ Zeller wasn't going to go top 8 which is likely where we'll draft

Too bad....Zeller and Lilliard are perfect picks at the 6-8 slots. Now, we down one player in the depth chart.

C'mon, lottery give us Davis!!!

Its interesting to me that since implementing the one and done rule, the number of Freshmen being taken in the draft has shot up - especially at the top end of the draft.

2011 - 4 of top 5 NCAA players were freshmen
2010 - 3 of the top 5
2009 - 1 in the top 5
2008 - 4 of the top 5
2007 - 3 of the top 5

2006 - 1 freshman in top 5
2005 - 1 freshman in top 5
2004 - 2 HS, 0 freshmen
2003 - 1 HS, 2 freshmen
2002 - 0 freshmen or HS in the top 5

To sum up - before implementing the one and done 7 of the 25 previous top 5 picks were either freshmen or HS seniors. Since implementing the one and done 15 of the 25 top 5 picks have been freshmen.

Thus far, it seems as though the one and done rule is having exactly the opposite effect that was intended - teams are actually focusing on YOUNGER players at the top of the draft.
The absurd mystery of the strange forces of existence.

I think he ends up the second best player in the draft. I've got my fingers crossed.

I agree that he has a chance to be with his skill-set and measurements. Good news that he's definitely in, I just hope teams keep sleeping on him come June.

Cody staying in was a foregone conclusion. I usually think players projected top 10 should just come out but as long as he stays healthy he'll likely still go lotto next year. He'll likely be one of the (if not the) best players in college on one of the best teams and the resurrected Hoosiers thing will be even bigger if so, thus the media will be behind him. The biggest problem for him both years was likely when he gets measured. His standing reach is apparantely extremely short. Add those measurements spooking GMs to the general aesthetic factor (skinny/white) and his ceiling is likely closer to 5th overall than 2nd overall in most drafts

Hopefully that happens. But I expect Lamb to blow up at the combine and team workouts. It shouldn't come as a surprise if Lamb does get drafted in the top 5.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

If you have watched alot of baylor games this season, you would know Pierre Jackson is the fastest player on Baylor. What does he do faceup? blow by? no. Shooting over people? No. A pullup? No. He only has that jump shot at the elbow and short corner. That's it.

And he definitely lacks post moves, he has no fakes/pivots move in the paint, he only has that back down then turn around jump hook, nothing else.

Ding Ding!

Stop trying to talk yourself in this kid when it should be obvious he will be incapable of playing the 3, and at the 4 he will simply not be productive.

I did a little research on Drummond's rebounding

Per 40 in college via DX:

Andre Drummond: 4.7 ORB, 5.9 DRB, 10.6 TRB

Deandre Jordan: 3.8 ORB, 8.2 DRB, 11.9 TRB

Javale McGee

Freshman: 3.8 ORB, 5.0 DRB, 8.7 TRB
Soph: 3.7 ORB, 7.1 DRB, 10.7

BJ Mullens:

3.3 ORB, 5.9 DRB, 9.2 TRB

This season per 36:

Jordan: 4.1 ORB, 6.9 DRB, 11.0 TRB
McGee: 3.9 ORB, 7.4 DRB, 11.4 TRB
Mullens: 2.4 ORB, 5.7 DRB, 8.2 TRB

So my best guess judging from this and the fact that NCAA rebounding translates very well, is that Drummond can be one of the best offensive rebounders in the league, but is likely to be a disappointing defensive rebounder.

JVal and Drummond although I'm not a huge fan of either prospect, could potentially be a ridiculous offensive rebounding combination

Glad to hear Lamb is in. I fully expect his stock to shoot up after workouts and the combine. Dude is going to be a player in this league. Book it.

As for PJIII, I think he can be successful at the 4 but it'll all depend on him as I've always said. His game and size is much better suited at the 4 but it's going take a change in his mentality and how he approaches the game. He needs to be more aggressive in demanding the ball, boxing out for rebounds and on defense. He needs to understand that teams drafting him are drafting him with the hope that he can become something big and he doesn't even seem okay with being the best player on the floor...that's a huge red flag for someone with the ability that he has. He really needs to change his mindset or he will be a bust at the next level.

Always been a fan of the potential of a Drummond/Val frontcourt. A lot of potential there. Drummond is a huge risk though but if he's available at 5 and everything looks good at work outs and the combine, I would take him. Drummond is going to take time though. I think working with Hakeem would be game changing for him and I was taking him, I'd try to make that happen as soon as possible.
