Wait, Jimmer plays basketball? I thought he just sat buried on the terrible King's bench?

Stun, next time don't push all your chips in on an under 6 foot rookie "point" guard before he plays his first NBA game. You boxed yourself into a corner for no reason. :D

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Battery on this.

But if I told you guys that coming into this season Kemba would put less pressure on opposing defenses than DJ and that his best attribute was defense, what would you say?

I mean damn, how many airballs and broken down plays that end with "naw, im good... you just do your thing Reggie :(" do you guys need to watch?

The performance of every single player on the Charlotte Bobcats roster this season has been underwhelming. Unfortunately, yet somewhat intriguing, Kemba Walker has been the most efficient player at 15.5 PER. I guess that explains why they are the worst team in NBA history.

That's why it's called team basketball folks. 99% of the time, 1-2 good players can't overcome the suckitude of their team. Even Jordan needed Scottie, the Zen Master, and solid role players like Rodman, Kukoc, and Longley/Grant.

This team is horrible, making it really difficult if not completely futile to evaluate individuals, regardless of what advanced nerd stat you come up with.

My main problem with Kemba is that he's not Stephen Curry. I thought Steph was a slam dunk when '13 rolled around. I thought he was our PG of the future. All we had to do was wait. I saw that as a given in the rebuilding process. Then they drafted our PG of the future. Now I'm seeing headlines on Real GM about Steph interested in talking extension with Warriors. And I'm facing a future where my PG doesn't have a silky smooth j, where I have to wonder, when my PG lines up his shot, where will this ball go? Oh well, at least Kemba has two ankles.

Well I'm not fully in agreement with you. I said before the season started that it would take at least a year and a full off season before we can begin to judge Kemba. Anyone who looked at it objectively and took off their rose colored glasses before the season started would have seen a player who was not ready to be an NBA point guard. Then you factor in a shortened season with hardly any practice time, and you can see why Kemba has struggled. We have no finishers on the team that would make him look good even if he was a half decent point guard.

Before we throw him in the trash heap, let's first see what the guy can do after a full training camp under a new coach. I'm sure he will also be in much better NBA shape too. Same with Biz. Remember, the team was not allowed any contact with these 2 once the lockout went into effect. So they were basically twiddling their thumbs for six months getting no instruction. Maybe all Kemba will ever be is a good backup, but in order to win in the NBA you need very good role players. Let's just hope he improves and becomes better at running a team. If not, then he will be gone too. But at least give the guy a chance.

urgh, I agree with Battery on this post and his Tyrus Thomas one. That's twice in an hour.
Quick someone bring up Larry Brown so balance can be restored.

But his view on Kemba would seem to be the common sense approach.
This was an extraordinary year, both rookies showed some glimpses, lets give them a chance and see what happens.

yeah but they aren't on the worst team in NBA history.... Kyrie looks like a superstar, DWill is struggling, Jimmers a bust, Jan Vesley=bust, Valanciunus= not in NBA yet, Rubio wasn't drafted this year and has struggled with his shot, hell aside from Kenneth Faried, Kyrie Irving, and maybe a couple others most of this years rookies have struggled bigtime.

You shouldn't judge guys just by their stats. For example, I don't agree with you on Jan Vesely. I haven't seen that much of him (for obvious reasons regarding his team), yet he seems to be a promising young player to me. He'll never be a 15 points per game guy, but his overall game is impressive, I'd say he'll become one of those jack of all trades guys. Also note that his body isn't yet NBA ready and he's playing on a terrible team for a rookie to be on.

Right, Doc? I'm sure you can tell us more about Janchise.

Bonnell has an interesting story about Kemba's year coming in Sunday's paper, maybe it will help the doubters see the light. I won't hold my breath though.

Bonnell supporting Kemba would only make me think Kemba sucked even more.
