There is a different world of basketball in Europe, there are no franchise players here, no youth development like in NBA, young players don't get minutes here, don't get the touches, but if some youngster starts to produce, he is immediately sold to richer teams. So all smaller clubs like Rytas are basically farms for teams like Barcelona, Real, Maccabi and so on.

As far as Jonas offensive touches are concerned, i think his teammates got confident with him getting the ball down low throughout the season so he is getting more touches right now. Last year, he was just a hustle guy, rebounder, pick&roll finisher. This year his confidence grew, he started asking for the ball down low, showing his back to the basket game, taking jump shots, being a leader and so on.

It's really a futile discussion but I'm curious what impact Jonas would have on the NCAA stage. Honestly, after evaluating his offensive skills I think he may be even more effective than Davis. He's obviously not as athletic as Davis but he is stronger, more polished and has a similar motor.

I mean Jonas is playing against professional centers every game whereas Davis is mostly going up against guys that will likely never go pro... or at least won't make it to the Europe leagues with decent competition. The NCAA may have a few excellent players but on average the competition would be much more difficult in Europe. Every year a lot of NCAA's top undrafted players go overseas and you rarely hear about them again.

I don't know average NCAA center height but it is probably like 6'9' its weakest position in NCAA. If Jonas was putting something like 25/12 being double, triple teamed against Mcdermott, Young, Leonard frontcourt who all are going to be drafted imagine how he would own other guys in NCAA who won't be pro's.

I think it's reasonable to assume he'd be a 15-20 ppg guy with 8-10 boards and 2 blocks. Depending on what team he landed on. If he played for Kentucky or UConn I wouldn't expect his numbers to differ too much from his Euroleague ones (bigs don't often score too much in the NCAA)

Maybe I am homer but if he would go to weaker ncaa team where he is clear number one option I could see him put similar u19 stats which was 23 pt 14 reb 3 blk 60%. Givony from Draftexpress who is Jonas homer said he would win ncaa title with his u19 team.

Good point, but his U19 didn't play Anthony Davis MKG and all. There are very rare instances (UConn last year for example) where the NCAA champion is lead by a premier scorer. Most of the time teams that win it all are littered with NBA talent and distribute the ball equally. Im wondering what top 10 school Jonas would go to and be options #1 and 2.

I don't know if it's been answered before, but will Jonas be available for summer league?

The summer league game threads are going to get 2x the posts of this season's games
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

When summer league starts? If his national team fails to qualify for olympics maybe he could. Though he still would probably want to play for u20 as all his friends will be playing.

I read somewhere that he won't participate in summer league because he's going to be with his national team

This is true

Olympic Qualifier Tournament (& Potentially Olympics) > NBA Summer League

No. He will play for his NT this summer. Even if they fail to qualify for olympics Jonas could well choose his U-20 NT considering that his closest friends are in there.

unfortunately arm strength is of least importance in terms of translation to the basketball court

Well I think it'd help when he goes up strong and players are slapping his arms, he could finish strong.

I used to underestimate his shotblocking ability. He can block everything.
