I seriously question another suspension/fine will change anything with Ron. He intentionally swung his elbow and has to take the consequences now. If I made the call, I would not feel any further limited punishment will protect others from this guy.

The man seems to try hard to be a "good guy", but there has to be an upper limit here. And I feel he has just exceeded that limit.

I hope Harden is alright.

Less games than the number Harden will miss because of a concussion.

Okay so evidently Harden has a concussion, no shocker there.

show me a dead ball elbow to the skull like that in the old NBA. I searched and couldn't find anything myself.

so you're saying it was a premeditated response?

I think that's the important part that is being overlooked here.

Seriously, any possible Stern reaction that makes a move like this a good strategic choice is not an option. I really question whether some people have any ability to see this from the league's perspective.

Are you serious? This guy has already destroyed a franchise for year and cost the league millions of dollars.

Artest is a good guy most of the time, but enough is enough.

And by enough is enough I mean Stern should put him away for the duration of his current contract. Too much risk keeping him on the floor.

Keep looking, you'll find something a 100 times worse than that. Like moses malone holding larry bird so dr j could repeatedly punch him. No suspensions or ejections.

My guess is that he's done for the season and misses 15 games next season.

This is a PR nightmare for Stern. Throughout the country the sports media will talk about this and in the next sentence also mention his involvement in malice at the palace. Stern will have to do something to counter the bad PR and that's why I think he'll bring the hammer down.

That was a brutal shot.

This - It's bad. Really bad.

I completely agree with Doctor MJ - You've had one full season suspension in your past, anything this egregious should certainly at least be talked about as a career ending infraction

Just another cheap shot by one of the Lakers. Loses points for lack of subtlety. They miss Fisher for the CLEVER cheap shot. Artest's flagrant are blatant and Bynum...well...ain't no subtle in him.

the great coaches seem to have one thing in common...they teach you to play dirty and get away with it. LAL no longer has a great coach.
CENSORED... No comment.

Cheap, intentional hit by MWP. Give him a 1 game suspension (or until the playoffs). Nothing else to see here really.

It doesn't even matter really. This isn't the old NBA.

didn't realize we were at that point. gotta at least miss the first round then, maybe the whole playoffs. i don't think he will get a life ban although a case can be made for it. i think the fact that he's been relatively quiet since the brawl will help him here.

Done. FOR-EV-ER. Harden didn't even really run into him, he walked towards him a bit and they got caught in each other's path Harden should have given him some extra space but that's a thing that happens 20 times every game. Artest should be done. Not just for the elbow, but for everything he has done prior to it. I don't even care that it'd help the Lakers out losing his salary, he should be gone and should be fined the maximum amount. If he can be fined more than a years salary then do it. Recoup some of the money he's cost the NBA.

Hope Harden is doing alright, he's a great kid, hate to see anything like this happen to a guy like him.

EDIT: There's no question Artest knew it was Harden and he was pissed off because Harden was killing the Lakers.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.
