I'm in the middle about Kemba. He's not exactly what I hoped for but hes a rookie who has had a week of training camp, no summer league, and has likely been affected by the losing atmosphere here. He'll come around within the next year or two. Until then, he'll keep having up and down games, leaving people to bash him when he doesn't play well, and then complimenting him when he has good games. Most of us do give credit where it's due, but what we've seen this season has been quite disappointing
I agree. Kemba has hardly been that phoenom that seemed to dragg Uconn to the title kicking and screaming. Yet he hasn't been Corey Higgins either. He has been just what he is. He has been a rookie. He has shot horribly, but many seem to forget that rookies usually do shoot terrible. That is nothing new. I expect he will get better. He may never be the next Terrell Brandon like I hoped, but I imaging he will be good enough to eventually manage a few playoff runs. I mean after all Avery Johnson captained a world championship. His rookie year stats... 1.6 pts 1.7 assts .6 rbs while shooting a marvelous .35% from the field and .11% from 3pt range. I'd say there is hope for Kemba. Even if he has the same name as my favorite exgirlfriend.
Again, that's probably a product of the lockout, and why rookies throughout the NBA have sucked this season.
That and the fact that last year's draft was said to be a weak from the beginning.
