Vertonghen looks like a good bet to join, which is great because we really need him.

I'm still not optimistic on Hazard, but the reports are encouraging. It would be amazing to land them both.

A bit old but City's owners are thinking of G. Higuain for Kun Aguero, and as a Madrid fan I would pull the trigger. Van Persie isn't enough of a sure thing this summer to pass up on Kun Aguero IMO but it sure is nice to think of a frontline attack with Benzema, RVP, CR7, Di Maria, Ozil, and Callejon.

James Rodriguez in 48hrs:

- Plays with national team vs Mexico in USA
- Get involved in both goals of the game
- Take two flights, costing him 15hrs and sleeping there
- Arrives in Portugal at 9a.m.
- Get some rest in the hotel
- Starts at the bench but come to the field on 58th minute
- Scored six minutes later
- Get an assist in last goal

Porto is doing such an amazing job of acquiring young South American talents.

Imagine if they were a club in one of the top 4 European Leagues. That club is so well managed that it's hard to believe that they would not compete for the CL if they had more money from tv deals and so on.

Hazard is going to be hated by one of the North London teams for his decision this summer. It would be fun to see him play with the Spurs.

My bet is neither, he'll probably end up at Chelsea, imo.

I think AW is under enough pressure to where he will at least put up a good fight for him. I think realistically, you're right tho IC. My money is on Gotze being the guy that we end up with...and Potscum...they'll at least get Vertonghen (who I wouldn't mind seeing as a Gunner).

Gotze is going to be worth 40 mil in the summer market. I cannot see Arsenal and even United paying that money for any player.

My best bet is Chelsea, City or even Madrid paying that money or Munich tapping him up to get a lower price.

If Chelsea doesn't make the CL - which looks like a good bet - no one's signing unless Mourinho is the new coach. Of course Jose wouldn't want to manage a club that's got no chance at CL either.

I see us taking more of a run at Gotze than Hazard, tbh. Podolski and Gotze are the two main targets for us this summer, if I had to guess.

Disappointing news for Madrid fans, one way or another. It's never good when your manager who's slated to leave is trying to bring your star player.

What I don't understand is how Chelsea would intend to deal with Ronaldo's buyout clause. I remember reading somewhere that Perez made sure his buyout was in the neighbourhood of a billion euros to deter owners from trying to grab him.

I have a hard time believing Ronaldo would return to England and play for a team other then United.

This as much as I love Mourinho no way he comes here unless we have CL. Unless Roman pays him stupid amounts of money rivaling what the players in Anzhi gets.

Mourinho is a Champions League guy. Chelsea might have to settle for Rafa.

I think Roman probably heard what the fans think of Benitez today.

I agree. With this supposed "transfer war chest," it wouldn't be surprising to see one big signing. I'm still gonna hope that we get a miracle and somehow end up with both Gotze and Hazard. :D

According to the Sun, Chelsea FC are making a 35 million pound transfer offer for Gonzalo Higuain.

Don't think he's the ideal replacement for an aging Drogba, they should be looking to bring in someone with more physicality than Higuain is used to.
