Amare for Humphries s&t Morrow and Farmar would be fairly great for both teams.
Nets:
Lopez
Amare
Wallace
Brooks
Deron
Not a lot of defense, but certainly some good pieces. Mike D'Antoni would be salivating, plus they would officially become Clippers East
Knicks wind up with
Chandler/Petro/Jordan
Humphries/Harrelson/Jeffries
Melo/Fields/draft pick?
Morrow/Shump/Douggie
Lin/Farmar/Bibby
That team would play a lot of defense, and have good shooters/spacers. Nets would have a star combo of Amare/Deron, Avery Johnson would probably get Amare up to 8 boards a game. Nets should be looking to trade BroPez for a center that fits Johnsons stubborn ways better anyhow.
A pipe-dream option would likely be Josh Smith, we could also take on Marvin Williams contract (7.5ish million expiring next season). Shumpert being injured, Douglas having no value, no draft picks and Fields contract status get in the way of us adding much incentive, but it is possible that a sure-thing Amare would be better for them and their franchise than either overpaying/losing Marvin and losing Josh Smith/going through free agent drama. Hypothetically: Jerome Jordan, Amare, Douglas for Josh Smith and Marvin is a deal that would greatly benefit the Hawks for the duration of Joe Johnsons contract.
A fate worse than death, we could offer Amare to the Bobcats for Maggette, Kemba and Tyrus Thomas. Jordan gets a player to add offense to his franchise, meanwhile assuring his team pays enough in salaries. Amare's deal expires at the best possible time for them as they will be extending Biyombo, Henderson among other picks they make along the way. I snuck Kemba in this deal because the Knicks need a point guard, and the Cats SHOULD be building a team, not just being a revolving door by allowing Auggie to just walk
