You're bringing back the Speculation Thread once the season is over right?

Yeah I think it will be back... everyone seemed to enjoy it and find it rather easy because it was an "all-in-one" place to post... so there should definitely be a Speculation: Off-Season thread where we can all discuss draft prospects, free agency, training camp, trades, player off-season activity.. post all the news in there just like last time... and then when the season starts, fire up another Speculation thread series that will last up until the Trade Deadline... rinse and repeat.

But I said back in March that maybe a Moderator and/or other members should do it next time from now on. The Speculation threads were epic, but man they were rough to keep up on . They filled up really quickly. After the NBA Finals are done I think we should all chip in and make one (a new person makes a thread part) :) ... not just have two people make it like last time (I had eyriq help me out a couple times).

Sound like a good plan you guys?

Being a Magic fan hurts sometimes.

And by sometimes I mean all the times.

I expect to take game 4 too. I see the Pacers winning the next two after that though.

I flippin knew it... I knew it!

I said it a few days ago... Duhon's stupid travel dance (as "humorous" as it was) was going to come back and bite us in the butt... Indiana was going to use that as motivation to play harder... just like last year when Nelson said to D-Rose, "See you guys in the 2nd round" and Atlanta used that as motivation to smash us.

Our players don't use their brains much do they?

Obviously there are more prominent reasons why we are losing this series... but seriously, Duhon, you're not helping... on the court or off the court... please GTFO our team.

Freakin hate Du-Du... clown.

shouldn't matter, if our team could find the ability to play with some urgency. our guys just don't have the killer instinct, and i blame that largely on an offense built around high volume 3point attempts. if you're going to commit to an offense like that, then a player needs to learn to accept that you're going to make some and going to miss some. it's a lower percentage shot than a 2pt field goal, so our guys learn to accept more and more misses as just "part of the process". any other team, that didn't rely on those baskets, would be attacking the rim. they'd be making stuff happen. but we just keep doin what we do.

you can try to blame the personnel all you want, but Stan made a point of limiting JRich's 3's earlier in the season, to get him back in form. he could do that with any player at any moment - but he doesn't. Stan is just as guilty of being complacent as any of our players, despite all his screaming and shouting.

+1
Hey I agree with everything you said, especially the part about Killer Instinct. I don't discount anything you said (look at my posts afterward, and in the "This is what we need to do" thread). That's why I broadly said, "Obviously there are more prominent reasons why we are losing this series". I know our team losing is not solely because of the dancing, but it's also just irritating to witness as a fan. The main problems are obviously coming from the FO with Otis, and obviously from the coaching. But we also don't have the players that have the capability to be mentally tough and to handle the pressures when the going gets tough. I just wanted to specifically vent about that ONE situation (stupid dancing and Pacer players using it as motivation), and also (once again) express my dislike for Duhon. I knew the Pacers would see that dumb stuff and get mad over it. Players feed off of that stuff, the ones who are mentally tough and motivated. Unfortunately our players don't feed off of it, because they are soft.

We can't discount other teams' players using stuff like that for motivation against us (we see it all the time, we saw it last year with the Hawks and the year before with the Celtics), all the while our team continues to be soft and not retaliate with the same angry motivation back at them. They get stepped on. We see Pacer players celebrating all the time, and our team does nothing when they see it. It just irks me. At least do something... fight back a little, you know? Don't just shrug your shoulders when you're down by 15pts and go "aww shucks, we lost, I give up." The body language is terrible on this team.

Honestly, where's the pride and backbone? We have none.

Sorry, M4E. I always get too caught up posting in the GB threads about the series :(

oh yeah, sorry, wasn't actually disagreeing with you. our team does make it easier by giving other teams something to use as motivation, but at the same time, i don't see us taking stuff from other teams to use as motivation. i think we did against the Boston series, but haven't seen that kind of fight ever since.

I know it would have been nice to see a win or at least a more competitive game, but we just don't have the talent.

Its not about talent. We looked like we just got out of bed. They treated this as a preseason game, not a playoff game. I am livid that we paid $400 bucks to see this abomination. There was no hustle, we got beat on every lose ball and rebound, there was no intensity from this team. There was no will from this team to fight back, aside from Baby and he can only do so much. They were some boos at the end and they were well deserved. I want our money back! I didn't pay to see the Orlando Generals. We paid to see a hard fought intense playoff game but instead I got a poodle show. **** those guys.

I paid $200 to sit 10 rows from the court, and I am absolutely disgusted with the way our guys played last night. It's not that we aren't as talented as Indiana, I understand that, it's that our team QUIT, yes QUIT, in the second half. They gave no effort whatsoever. We would get beat to a loose ball, allow an offensive rebound, or commit a stupid foul, and our guys would just kind of shrug their shoulders with a "whatever" attitude.

I was one of the few people booing them in the lower bowl but it was deserved.

I'm going to game 4 as well and am sitting three rows from the court, and if they offer the same kind of effort, I'm going to boo them as loudly as I can, I don't care if I'm the only one in the arena booing.

The effort last night was pathetic. Absolutely disgusted with the amount of money I wasted last night. It was like throwing money down a rat hole.

From OPP: (Pacers / Magic)

Team Pace 87.6 / 87.6
Efficiency 110.7 / 84.5
eFG% 51.9 / 45.8
FT Rate 19 / 12.7
OReb% 31.7 / 13.2
TO Rate 14.8 / 19.4

Green denotes a stat better than the team's regular-season average;
red denotes a stat worse than the team's regular-season average.

**

How many green entries did we have?

I stuck around til like 2 minutes to go hoping to see more Liggins. Stan must hate that guy.

Anyways, it appeared to me that BBD was the only one trying to Will the team at least in the first half.

When Indy went on their first run, BBD would make the guys get in a circle as he tried to inspire them after a foul. He was showing genuine leadership. It is like he is the only one that doesn't want to lose. Some of the others gave pedestrian efforts.

There was no fire or going all out because this should be a do or die situation every game.

Even before the playoffs some people were proclaiming this is the heart & hustle team. I said we're making the real Heart & Hustle team looks bad by comparing these groups of one dimensional three points shooters to them.
