What I like is how everyone forgot about the first quarter. The best thing about the 1st was we did not get Melo started early. Good teams get their role players hot early, because stars ignite with greater ease. Having Fields run the offense, which he did for the first few minutes, got the ball moving around a lot and led to Amares easy opportunities early on. We won the 1st quarter by 2 points, largely because of Fields.

that is a good point.. because games are not always won in the 4th qtr.. fields got off to a good start and we won the qtr.... scorers and allstars are going to get their points, but it is still a team game.... today it wasn't chalmers hitting big shots, it was bibby for us.... that is huge.. it was fields early.. that was huge.. melo and amare finally did what they are expected to do.... and that is good.. but as you said, we can't forget the first qtr..

i dont think anyone discounted how big the 1st qtr was to leave with lead...but lets get serious games are won in the 4th quarter in the playoffs.

it when you find out men are men...as well as fields played in the 1st quarter he was an absolute mess in the 4th quarter and is not cut out to play in those big spots and the spot overwhelms him

airball 3 (wide open)
travel in the middle of the lane
leaving mike miller wide open for 3 getting caught ball watching

those 3 plays all happned in the 4th and i thought it was going to cost us.

i still trust anyone on the roster over fields late in games...especially vet guards like bibby and jr

I'm pretty sure only the airball was in the 4th quarter.

I don't think Lin should play in game 5 and risk aggravating his knee, realistically there is no way the Knicks can come back all the way from this series and with the game 4 win it was pretty much mission accomplished which was to not get swept.

my apologizes i think 1 or 2 of them came very late in the 3rd qtr. I was lumping them together but good catch.

but it still goes back to the later the game the less u can trust him. But he had a very good 1st qtr and i thought woodson went away from him too quickly

Chandler/Melo/STAT can co-exist, so long as STAT continues his off the ball movement to the hoop.

All except the parts that were 'Stat Ball.'

Melo had the points, but Amare played like a man today. Did a little of everything.

Agreed. I think Melo has to be the #1 option on offense, and STAT has to understand that. Melo is the more clutch player, and can create his own shot better than STAT. I think this team is at its best when STAT takes a Pau Gasol type role, do everything, finish inside, rebound, dirty work, and just play off Kobe(Melo). That is when the Knicks are really dangerous. STAT can get 20 just by making teams pay for focusing on Carmelo too much on defense, like he did today. Lots of catches deep, and finishing strong.

Refs did not screw us today (they screwed both sides, overall fair).

Fields, Harrelson, Amare, Bibby
These guys earned the win.

Linsanity part 2 = a nip slip or a accidental peepee touch by one of the Scores girls.
free Douglas = coming home to find a fat hairliped girl sporting a mullet laying nekid in your bed.

No, mpharris is right. All that went down in the 4th

Battier cannot guard Melo on the perimeter. In this series Melo is shooting 53% with Battier guarding him yet only 29% with Lebron on him (as per Brian Windhorst | @WindhorstESPN).

The only time Battier has been effective is in ball denial situations where he is fronting Melo in the post as Melo fights for position.

JVG said it best, there should be no reason why they let Amare' go to his right. And he still went to his right.

Battier is still a good defender. Melo just has his number.

Nobody is stopping a great scorer like Melo one-on-one. Melo hasn't been that successful against Lebron this series, but he usually torches him too.
