Depends on the "fillers", no to Lewis/Blatche.

Any filler would make the deal one sided against our favour.

I'm almost as sad that we're not getting him as I am that we're not getting Davis.

We could of been so good together lol

Such a natural fit for us. I'd happily acquire him in a swap for DeRozan straight up.

I would trade our pick + Derozan + Ed + Bayless for him.

Pick+Demar+Ed. I like the idea of Bayless and Beal playing together. Beal's playmaking would help cover for Bayless's attacking nature. I just think the pairing would be a phenomenal building block add Bargnani + Jonas, and all your missing is a glue guy at the 3 and your ready in a year or 2 to make deep playoff runs.

Ain't gonna happen, but if he did slide to 8. He'd be the obvious pick.

Do you guys think that we may be able to move up to grab him somehow?

8th + Demar and/or Ed

or

8th + next year's 1st round pick (top 5 protected)

Are deals that could work, no? Assuming that we're able to add guys like Nash, Dragic, Lin **shudders** and Batum in the offseason, we'd have a nice young roster going forward.

Nash/Bayless/PG prospect (Wroten?)
Beal/Forbes/Anderson
Batum/Johnson/Kleiza
Bargnani/Amir
Valanciunas/Gray

3 solid defenders in Beal, Batum and Val, JJ and Amir off the bench.
4 potent shooters in Nash, Beal, Batum and Bargs.
Good backups off the bench with Amir, Forbes, JJ, Kleiza and potentially Bayless.

Assuming Val and Beal pan out and Bargnani keeps improving under Casey, we'd still have some weakness at PF and C and a questionable future at PG if Nash gets injured or when he retires but nothing that couldn't be addressed through careful drafting/trading/free agency. Don't want to jinx it here, but I'd say that this is a team that could finish anywhere from 5th-8th next season and go toe to toe with the big teams like NY, Miami and Chicago with a few years of experience barring franchise altering scandals/injuries.

The only problem is that we'd still be at a clear disadvantage in a hypothetical playoff series against OKC.

Wow, those are massive overpays. My favourite move up deal was in 2006 when Portland gave up its 4th + Khryapa for the right to draft Aldridge instead of TT. Let's find a GM who is willing to do that kind of deal - y'know, a win-win for both sides *chortle*.

You're really gonna compare the '06 draft to this years'?

C'mon, you're talking about giving up our lottery pick plus TWO previous lottery picks (whose lack of progress this year can possibly be ascribed to the lockout and shortened training camp) for ... someone who isn't Anthony Davis. I thought the new consensus was that this draft was disappointing below AD.

As for your first suggestion, I could possibly be talked into giving up Ed + 8th, if something else was coming back our way. I'd give up DD without the 8th pick, but not AND the 8th pick.

As for your alternative suggestion, I still disagree with the idea of trading two lottery picks for one lottery pick. Make the 2013 pick lottery protected for four years, and maybe.

8th + Demar or Ed to move up is a decent deal. I think people underestimate just how lowly valued those two players are right now. Demar put up a 6.2 FG/14.7 FGA with no other impact on the game this year. When I see a statline saying "6-15" on any given night, I think to myself "That guy sucked tonight!" Having a season average of that number is pretty much atrocious. I like Demar... as a project and longshot that he can improve

Next year's draft pick should definitely be off the table. IMO trading future draft picks is a bad idea like all the time.

Yeah, maybe offering next year's pick is a bit too much.

8+Ed and 8+Demar are two different deals, it's like day and night.

BC is not doing 8th + Demar to move up the draft, too risky, he's not getting rid off his franchise player for a player who might become one. Also the fact that it's BC's final year, but this give up Demar deal for higher pick would be still pretty stupid if it wasn't Colangelo's last year.

8+Ed to move up would be great deal, i think BC would do this to grab a guy like Barnes or MKG.

I feel that a lot of you are over-evaluating our young guys... Demar is the bare minimum you'd have to give up to draft 2-4 this year.

I'm pretty sure at this moment Demar, Andrea and Jonas are not movable for higher pick, even for the extra pick at 2-4 spots. It might seem cool to us, Trade Bargs For The Pick Yeah!!!, but BC tried to put this puzzle together for a long time, I can't see him getting rid of one of these guys for a higher pick just to start it over again in his final year.
