Is Orlando so scared that the can't build a team around Dwight that they won't try? Even though he waived his ETO to give them a second chance? WOW! This man just had back surgery, probably the most vulnerable state he's in and yet we're too scared to try building around him again.

So if we trade Dwight to Houston, what does everyone think we could get from them?

Dwight/Turkoglu for Scola/Martin/and their two first round picks this season?

That's such a better trade for us than Bynum or Lopez.

^ The biggest problem is that the people we have in place to "build" around him are incompetent and I still think Otis has something over somebody to have kept and been promoted for what his body of work has led us to.

Steve Kyler wrote:The new Collective Bargaining Agreement has changed the landscape of the NBA, and going forward it’s going to get worse and worse for teams that are used to just throwing money at the problem. Teams that have leveraged large chunks of their salary cap into two and three players are starting to find out that the new world drawn up in December is going to require smaller contracts and greater flexibility, not just a huge checkbook.

The new CBA has lots of implications that are still to be realized IMO, one of which will be the increased difficulty of building around 2 or 3 near max players.

Bynum is a talented player. Mike Brown doesnt use him well, he should draw more plays for him in the post.

I was thinking of some scenarios for a D12 trade and I got to the conclusion that dealing him to the Lakers is the best option, considering that the other options would be Nets or Mavs.

Bynum, Artest and picks for D12, Duhon and J-rich. We shouldnt take Pau's contract cause he is already aging and has a long expensive contract. This way we get in a better position for '13 free agency, that will have a lot of talented players.

We need to unload Hedo's contract and Artest's contract wouldnt help.

1) Hedo is going nowhere for 2012. He will get cut next summer.

2) No chance in hell Dwight will get traded ever to Houston.

That rumor was done by a Rockets fan. I thought people learned there lesson from the fiasco that happened already creating fantastical trades based on illusionary rumors with no name sources.

yeah, those are points people havent being taken consideration

That's why I thought of this trade. Artest has a 7M player option for 13-14. Even if he picks it, he still can be traded for a team that has cap flexibility and wants a expiring. Thats way better than having J-Rich's awful contract alongside Duhon.

And I think Bynum is quite a player and has a great future ahead of him, so I think it would be a good deal.

Bynum is a nightmare of a player, attitude wise. He would ruin the team chemistry playing next to BBD. They would clash for sure. I don't want anything to do with bad attitudes here. Lakers are working overtime trying to build Bynums value by making fantastical statements that "Bynum could be one of the best all time" type press releases. I would rather have Cousins, Tyreke Evans and their Draft pick if that is the case.

But, I am fairly confident Dwight is going no-where 2012. So, Magic fans can keep dreaming up trades like before being there is nothing better to do this summer besides think of ways to get something for Dwight.

Then, let the Twitter media trolls read RealGM so they can post false rumors that eventually will be read by Dwights friends who will then tell Dwight even though Dwight may not even consider leaving until he reads these false rumors. Life is not a trade machine video game to some of these players when they hear this crap when they are considering staying with their team for life.

The big shoe to drop will be how we deal with SVG. If we keep him Dwight will start packing his bags. If we fire him than Dwight is staying.

Well, Cousins is way worse than Bynum, attitude wise. I like Bynum as a good post-player, his technique on the low post offense, thats it. I dont see the Magic getting Cousins and Evans also.

Anyways, lets stop thinking of possible trades, as you said, and just see how things turn out to be.

If the problem is just SVG, it would be better just to fire him. That are some good coaches out there. It is not difficult to get a guy as good as him.

That sounds like a painfully easy choice, to me.....

It does, but this management does not give me the confidence that they will make the correct choice for the future success of the franchise.

It also seems like a risky choice if we can't line up a good coach to follow him.

Sure people will probably want to coach Dwight, but also when teams get into situations of "keep X happy or else Y gets fired" its never good. Many successful teams in sports have had this situation.

Your a coach, you want to play the team a certain way, but if that does not please Dwight, is he just going to go run to front office?

Maybe an over reaction by me, but I am still not behind firing SVG (before Otis) to appease Dwight (who has been nothing short of awkward this year and still convinced he wont stay after his next contract anyway). Get rid of the failures first, then SVG (who actually wins ... admittedly with some poor coaching decisions, but nearly every coach has those, even the great ones. Sir Alex Ferguson in football, who is probably the most successful sports coach/manager of the modern era (past 25/30 years) routinely goes through crazy periods)

Like I've been saying for quite sometime. Hedo and duhon are going to be waived. Imo jameers gone and i think q will be moved for a very late pick. they'll Let Anderson go if he's offered a big contract, and jj will either be moved for a higher pick or waived to clear cap. Just my opinion probably but thats what I think is happening if they're serious about keeping Howard.

Looks like we probably won't make moves for another two weeks at least IMO. The draft lottery is on May 30th. I think we will trade Dwight to Brooklyn if they land a top 3 pick. If that happens, they'll probably want to keep Stan. If Brooklyn doesn't land a top 3 pick, we stick with Dwight and clear house. So, this may all be hanging on what happens May 30th.

I don't necessarily agree with the strategy but it makes sense.
