Derrick Williams, Evan Turner, Hasheem Thabeet, Michael Beasley. Last four NBA second picks haven't lit the league on fire, huh?
Oh, Lord!

Givony's detailed mock draft for yahoo is up - he had us taking Robinson and believes they woud work well together with Biyombo (DX was very high, very convinced and right about Bismack last year).

For reference for those who didn't see it, Harrison Barnes is listed at 6'8 look how much taller T-Rob is compared to himJames Gatz wrote:Battery wrote:Badd_Intentions wrote:I'll take Amare

He's saying Amare as a rookie. Each of those players is a comparison to a person in this draft. I would love Amare but I don't think that's who Drummond is going to turn out to be.
Here's how I see it:
We have 3 to 4 realistic options in terms of the pick not including trades. I think workouts and interviews will play heavily here. Drafting any of Robinson, MKG, Beal, and Drummond has both positive and negative factors at play.
Robinson- This is who at this point in the process I would want. He's a physical hard worker who can rebound well and would provide some scoring. Him in tandem with Biyombo would result in a shorter front court but their strengths play off each other. His stock will depend largely where he checks in height wise at the combine and could be anywhere from 6'7 to 6'9.
MKG- I love his warrior spirit, the fact he will always sacrifice himself for the team, but to say his jump shot needs improvement is an understatement. He would replace Maggette at 3 but I don't ever see him being more than 3rd option scoring wise. He like Robinson will probably check in a little undersized as well.
Beal- He has a pretty stroke and rebounded well in college. I would be higher on him if he didn't play the same position as Henderson, who sad as it is probably the best player on our team. The Bobcats do need a scorer and I could see him being a 20 and 5 guy.
Drummond- I'll begin by saying I don't want him. The upsides are obvious. He's an 18 year old kid with a grown man's body. Not many 6'10 6'11 260 guys with that kind of athleticism and speed come around all that often. He could be as great as anyone in this draft. I just don't think he's worth the risk. Also pairing him and Biyombo makes little sense as they both have very limited offensive games.
In Cho we trust.
