I've watched quite a bit of T Rob and i would not say he is a Larry Johnson type player. I would put him more in the category oz Zack Randolph, except he is a better athlete and from what everyone is saying has a much better attitude and work ethic. The player to last get drafted that he reminds me of is Derrick Favors. I think Favors is a bit more athletic, but Robinson is more skilled. I can definitely see Robinson becoming a 20 & 10 guy.

Beal's game I love except his being 6-3 is very concerning. If he was 6-5 I would take him in a heart beat.

Cho is already licking his chops. He may be able to parlay this 2nd pick into 3 1st round
picks. He probably allready has 100 different combinations including all bobcat players
in trade scenarios on his laptop. There are second round sleepers in this
draft better than 1/3 our roster! The bobcats scouts need to do their job at
the combines. Ezeil,O'Quinn are good NBA backup center possiblities.
Jenkins,Lamb,and Cunnungham are NBA quality SG .

As for 1st Round picks,TRob probably will go at 4, so if we trade with Portland
getting#6,11, we are left with Sullinger or Barnes at 6. Barnes would be the
logical pick as we do not need another 6'9" center or we could trade the 6th pick
to Toronto for James Johnson young SF and select Lamb SG at 8 and Marshall PG
at 11. Then let DJA walk as RFA.

My targets would be, do whatever we can to get the 11th pick while keeping the 2nd and get Perry Jones III, he has as much potential is drummond, but he can play SF, we take T-Rob the safer pick at #2

That player is projected to go first overall. We have to wait until next year's draft if you want a star player.

I could see Wiz taking T Rob, they're sick of Blatche.

Although Beal and Wall would be a solid mix, Wall has the size to fit well with him.

Melodramatic? Not sure how you see that. Just an illustration of how long-shot thinking rarely pays off in the long run - and rebuilding implies more of a 'long run' process. You disagree with the concept or the analogy?

It's apples and oranges. This isn't a poker game, and the points that make a poker game like you've described are not found in the NBA. The parallels just aren't there for the analogy to hold.

this isnt meant to advocate taking player A over player B, just something we all need to keep in mind about building this franchise.

we need assets. its something cho has talked about a lot over the past 2 years. we need assets and eventually we need a franchise player. davis would have been our franchise player. this wont be our only chance to land a franchise player. we will probably be in this position again next year and maybe the year after that. we will also have cap space galore next summer. the last thing we should do right now is to chase a franchise player in this draft. we absolutely cannot afford to miss on a pick. we did that with ammo and it set us back many year. we have to come out of this draft with an asset. we may not come away with a franchise player, most likely we will not.

bottom line, dont compound the pain of missing out on davis, but reaching for a guy who might have the biggest upside but also might have the best chance at being a bust. get a good player and move on.

I think people look at Drummond and see his body and are suddenly blinded. I think the kid is much more a potential for bust than a potential for anything related to star. Quite honestly, even if Drummond turns out to be at his maximum skill I still don't think he is anymore a superstar than Thomas Robinson is in the NBA. It's not a matter of safe vs project, it's a matter of smart vs dumb.

Well, think about Dwight and Bynum, both are pretty dumb people. They're centers #1 and #2 in the league.

I'd personally call up Portland and see if they had any interest in doing #2/Tyrus/Carroll (expiring) for LMA and Nolan Smith. They can rebuild with the #2, #6, and #11 picks in the draft. We, on the other hand, get our PF. Might have to remove Tyrus and do Diop instead but I'd still do it. Or keep Tyrus and offer a swap on second rounders.

Walker - Hendo - Mags - LMA - Bismack

That's a decent lineup. LMA is a quality, young player locked up for a while on a decent contract so no issues there. For them:

Marshall - Matthews - Batum - Hickson - Drummond - Lamb/Barnes/Someone

Marshall - Beal - Batum - Hickson - Sullinger

Etc.

Either that or we offer #2 for all of Portland's draft picks this year. A total of five picks could really help us out, whether we use them all or trade a few.

Dumb players with lack of heart like Drummond usually max out faster than smart ones with high motors like T Rob

Motor, Motor, Motor, Motor Maybe if I say it enough times you guys will start to understand motor is everything. Let's use another word heart! T-Rob has plenty of it, so he will play better than he is. If Drummond doesn't develop it despite all of the potential he will just be one of those guys who seems to just be content to be on a team, and draw a paycheck. The more I think about it I want T-Rob on this team. We need the fire.

Kemba, with all his hearts and motors, still couldn't pick this team up. I'm thinking heart and all that is more of a perception than it is an actual thing the player has.

Stun, you can't roll out a frontcourt that small...not longterm anyway....


And I keep seeing this being said all of the time but why can't Drummond and Biz play on the same front court...especially if Drummond has much better hands than Biz...

Don't see why not? Biyombo has a longer wingspan then most centers, and Drummond & Biz are both centers, Biz can not play PF successfully.Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning were both undersized yet successful

No one ever says Dirk is "too big" to be a powerforward just because he's 7 feet tall. Bismack could guard PFs in this league and if you don't think so, then what do you think?
