Trade up for MKG..He could easily slip to 4 with the way the draft order is set up. W's just need to move up a few spots..One time!!

The talking heads (MT and co.) seem to think there's no way we'll be picking 7. Either trading for a vet or trading up. I'd much rather trade up for MKG. Maybe Klay and the 7 for 3/4 pick, or Rush and the 7.

Klay and MKG are the perfect young wing combo. I'm keeping this kid Thompson and finding a way to pair him with Kidd-Gilchrist or Iguodala.Jester_ wrote:The talking heads (MT and co.) seem to think there's no way we'll be picking 7. Myers was quoted as saying that it was doubtful that we are going to draft 7 rookies in two years.

I did as well, it lends credence to the idea of us trading maybe two or more of our picks.

I think he is more suited to play SF than PF and I also think that he didn't like playing center or PF for Baylor. That is the argument coming out of his camp, that he was playing out of position. I think there is more to it that that.
The thing is, I think he has all the skills needed to play SF and if he can show he has the passion and desire, he could really be a force. I think there are a lot of ifs with him, but wow he could really be special. The thing is, you don't see his elite athletic ability for his size very often. Huge risk, but also could be a home run as well.
I would rate him second only to Drummond as far as potential.
I've been saying this for the longest, there is no way PJIII is a 4 or 5. He is a Small Foward and played out of position at Baylor.
I wants us to take a long hard look at him because if we play him at the 3, that kind of athleticism and size would be extremely valuable in today's league.

Should always be looking to get the best player for your team, and for us, that's MKG. Lots of options there: we could use the 7 to trade up, possibly dangle Curry for the #2 and then address PG (Marshall, Lillard, for the love of god NOT Austin Rivers) at 7.
Should we stay at 7, the choice should be Sullinger or Henson. Barnes, IMO, provides a better version of what we already have at SF and would be a waste of a pick. Perry Jones questions his own motor, like we all do. Terrence Jones plays like a PF in a SFs body. If Thomas Robinson drops to 7, he could be the pick despite his limitations. Also Brad Beal could be, even though we dont need him and I'm not a big fan of having an undersized SG again.
So it comes down to Sullinger or Henson for me, and I like everything I've heard and seen from Henson so far. He reminds me more of an Ibaka type that can play PF while Lee plays C and our defense wouldnt totally suffer as in year's past. Sullinger, OTOH, is more like a Lee clone, in that he plays below the rim, has range, and doesnt like to challenge shots. Only difference is while Lee's got more skills on the perimeter, Sully has more skills on the block.

This is from the NBA RUMOR section in ESPN:
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors own four picks -- Nos. 7, 30, 36 and 52 -- in the 2012 draft and they don't want four rookies on the team next season, which means they're ready and willing to make deals.
"I think we're going to explore consolidating, looking at various trade possibilities," general manager Bob Myers told Marcus Thompson II of The Oakland Tribune Wednesday night. "And that's the nice thing about having the assets that we have going into this draft. You get in a room with guys like Jerry West, myself, our coaches ... now we have the ability to put on the whiteboard endless possibilities as to what we can do. And that's a good feeling."
The Warriors might trade up in the draft or use the picks to bring in a veteran. Thompson II lists Andre Iguodala [Sixers], Nicolas Batum [Blazers], Danny Granger {Pacers], Rudy Gay (Grizzlies] and Josh Smith [Hawks] as potential targets at the small forward position.

Really don't want Sully or Barnes. Sullinger just isn't athletic enough which is something this team needs. Barnes is weak.
I think we should try and trade the pick for j smoove or igoudala and a later pick

Floppy you are getting hooked on Marshall. Wish he was a step quicker with a reliable shot from range. I really like his ability to run the point. He is a true PG and a quality leader on the court.

Reliable shot from range is the *easiest* thing to acquire after you are drafted. JRich had no jump shot at all coming into the league, and he went on to lead the league in 3 ptrs made one season.
I agree with you about the speed and athleticism. But that's why he's still there at 7.
Here's my big question for those saying Marshall doesn't belong in this discussion:
Why did a team with three OTHER top 15 draft selections on it flail around so badly after Marshall got hurt?

Marshall will be the greatest passer in the game for the next 15 years..He's like Andre Miller but with superior court vision. Kendall will still be playing PG in the association at 66 years old.
I'd take him at 7 in a heartbeat. I like him right there with Sully and Henson.
UNC was nothing before he took over the point gaurd position and nothing after he went down.

Davis, Drummond, TRob, and MKG are my top four. Outside of that, I'd be all for a trade.
If we're keeping the pick, I'd take a serious look at Terrance Jones as the best of the rest. He Seems to have the complete NBA package - prototype size, outside shot, paint skills, athletic, can run the floor, bigtime defender - he's very much a Ron Artest clone. The biggest concern is his head, but I'd rather grab a guy with the skills and hope the head pans out, rather than the reverse.
As someone who's watched a ton of Sullinger, I'm really concerned about his stamina and athleticism at the NBA level. He struggles against big scrubs at the college level, and that's after losing all the weight last offseason. He'll find the skilled and semi-skilled players at the NBA level a serious challenge, especially in crunch time after he's already been on the floor for 30 minutes.

I turned on the feature to let people switch their votes if they like. I thought it would be interesting to see how they move around as we get closer to draft time.

T Jones is the exact oppsitie of Ron Artest..Bad motor and soft as a feather pillow
I went with Sullinger at 7..but i could be off his nuts 10 minutes from now.
My Big board as of right now..
1. AD
2. MKG
3. Beal
4. Robinson
5. Sullinger
6. Drummond
7. Marshall
8. Henson
9. Zeller

Easy now. Floppy is pimping him correctly, your take here is a little, well, ridiculous.
Looks to be a nice young PG, with a weird little lefty flick shot (and I say shot, because there is not much jump in his shot. Kinda like J Kidds 3 ball). Could become a nice starter.

I'll be pissed if we trade for J Smith and put him at SF...he is a PF, period.
Still think Sullinger is the pick. He could be the backup PF to Lee and provide effort and toughness, not to mention SCORING down low which will be huge. Pretty sick of watching the backups hoist jump shots all the time

Marshall's already the best passer in the game..Try watching some games. He does have two major flaws which makes taking him at 7 over Sully/Henson questionable, but he's going to be starting in the NBA for years and years.
