Depending on how expensive Batum will be...but I'd probably go for it. Highly doubt Portland would though.

Sounds great in theory, but Portland has already said they will match ANY offer to Batum. They are not giving him up.

Seem like a lot of teams are after MKG, i.e. wizards, cavs, kings?, warriors.
I say the Bobcats make it seem like we'll draft MKG (consenus BPA after Davis) and maybe a team like cavs/kings will trade their pick + asset to jump up. And assuming Blazers are after Drummond, trade back again for 6 & 11 picks. Who knows, Robinson might fall back to 6th to us.

I don't like the idea of trading down unless we receive an established player in return. The only deal I would do with GSW:

#2, Tyrus, Carroll for #7, Curry, Wright

Then I'd find a playoff team willing to take Maggette for a late-first/early-second and expiring contract.

And give up on including DJ in trades. The guy is gone and S&T's are rare. No team is going to trade for him when they can sign him in FA. He's not a marquee enough name to secure via trade before he hits the market.

"We want Gilchrist"... Cleveland trades #4 and #24 for #2

"We want Drummond"... Portland trades #6 and #11 for #4

1. NOH - Davis
2. CLE - Gilchrist
3. WAS - Beal
4. POR - Drummond
5. SAC - Barnes

Get Robinson at 6, Lamb at 11?

Supposedly GS doesn't want to keep all 4 of their picks b/c they want some vets on the roster. Maybe S&T DJ for their #7 to give them a veteran PG to back up Curry?

If it works out like that, no way TRob falls past SAC.

I dunno, none of it makes sense to me, but I thought the RGM blurb wasn't very informative. If I had a kid I was trying to make money off of, I want him to go as high as possible in the lottery. After that I can see how fit would be relevant to future earnings and a great 2nd round fit for a client could be more profitable than a late 1st because the contracts are shorter (right?). Having written that, I don't see how Charlotte would be an undesirable destination for a talented player that needs playing time, but maybe agents with more prospect style talents that need to be brought along slowly would be wary?

^ If I'm Sac and Robinson is still on the board at #5, I'm taking him to pair with Cousins. Thompson seems to be on his way out the door there.

I can see that, but Robinson can fit the stretch 4 mold (which why I like him on the Bobcats so much) which would let Cousins focus on being a true C. Assuming Robinson and Barnes are equal players, most teams are going to go big over small.

At 6 and 11 we will probably be stuck with a combination of Barnes, Lamb, Ross, Marshall, PJIII, Rivers, Lillard, or Sullinger. Not sure if I would like any combination of those guys over T-Rob especially if Hendo is part of the deal.

Kings is pretty crowded with Bigmen (Cousins, JT, Hayes, Hickson, Whiteside). JT & Hickson did really well for them after the All-star break. They will resign one if not both of those players and Hayes is still on that ridiculous contract. They need a wing (maybe Barnes?)

I don't see the hype with Jonas. He's a euro bigmen who hustle and bang around the paint. What euro bigmen, beside Marc Gasol, is like that in the NBA? Jonas is no Marc Gasol. He can be successful with that style in Europe, but it wont be that easy in the NBA. I see him as a Tiago Splitter type.

I'd be happy with either Drummond or t rob. If we make a deal and get 2 lotto picks I'd hope for 1 of them to be PJ3. It would be a gamble but if we go with a "safe" guy I would like for us to take a guy with big potential.

Kinda weary of Beal because of his height. Not to many 6'3" sg's are tearing it up. He may be another Eric Gordon though but how good did Gordon make the clippers? if he does turn out that good he can be an asset tough.

hey, lets try to keep the trading the pick discussion in the thread thread i re-named.

viewtopic.php?f=53&t=1181538&p=32021303#p32021303

i think this will make it easier to follow. prospect discussion here, trading the pick discussion there.

sound good?

honestly I would go with

Robinson, PJ3 and Austin Rivers with the 24th pick. then draft a C with our 31st pick

Kemba
Henderson/Rivers
PJ3/UPS
Robinson/Mullens
Biyombo/Mason Plumlee?

one more lotto pick next year, then we'll be a bonafide playoff team

we'll have 1 player with superstar potential, and 3 players that can be perennial all-stars. then we'll have a potential sixth man of the year type of player off the bench.
