Robben played 15 minutes for Netherlands, "greeted" by loud boos from quite a few Bayern fans. To be fair, other Bayern fans also applauded him, but it left a bad taste. Almost every player (Lahm, Schweinsteiger, van Bommel, vd Vaart) condemned the jeering.

I am TOTALLY SURE that all Bayern players, and especially Robben, will be very motivated to play this game!

Excited to see Christian Erikson for Denmark and the partnership of Gotze and Ozil.

Switzerland wins 5-3 against Germany Image
I know it's only a test without any Bayern players - but damn what a disgrace.
You want a sure recipe to lose a game on the international stage? Field a couple of Dortmund players.

Joachim Loew has made his final cuts.

He'll send goalkeeper Marc André ter Stegen, midfielders Julian Draxler and Sven Bender as well as attacker Cacau back home.

Germany's final roster

I'm alright with it and I like him sending home Cacau.

I think he sees Marco Reus as a real option as the lone striker and he showed that against Switzerland.
It's bad for ter Stegen, but he's only 20 years of age and should be an option after this tournament, when I'd expect Loew to cut ties with Tim Wiese and install a new #2 behind Neuer.

Why did he send Sven Bender home? I always had the impression that Sven was the better of the two Bender brothers. :dontknow:

Because Lars is more versatile and can play right back as well.
Given the few defenders he selected, keeping him over Sven was to be expected.

Why was Cacau selected in the first place?

Point forward wrote:^I understand, and you surely will be sore as hell, but eventually, you will get over it. When Leverkusen 2002 lived through the same thing (2nd in BL, Pokal finalist, CL finalist), the Leverkusen players (Ramelow, Schneider, Neuville) played a brilliant WC, and their CB Lucio even won it. Also, the Dortmund guys like Hummels, Schmelzer and Götze or the neutral guys like Khedira, Özil, Reus or Draxler surely will provide some sunshine.

But still, it is totally ok to be gutted if you are a Bayern fan. Just don't stay like this forever...

Ballack also had a fantastic WC in 02 and Germany would have been in great shape with him if he played the final.

As a Bayern fan, I'm still not over the Cl loss, but I really hope the guys can bounce back and win the Euro. It would be great for all of Germany and especially Bayern, as they have by far the most players on the NT team. The only one i'm really worried about is Shweini, he was devastated when he missed the PK. Germany hopefully ends this runner up and finishing 3rd nonesense with a European Cup. 8-)

Kahn, they will be ready.

As great as Champions League is, it is badly dwarfed by National Club. Ultimately playing for Munchen is a job, one shared by people from other countries. Playing for Deutschland represents the country, people, & culture

It's probably just me but winning the CL title with my team would mean more to me than winning the European Cup with Germany. It might be a different story if it was a world cup but I simply love the Champions League. Before games I catch myself humming along the CL anthem.

Honestly, suck it. Champions League is on the same level as a world cup, IMO.

Obviously, more people are engaged in a wc because of the countries but regarding level of play I think the overall level of competition in the knockout stages is better in the CL than in WC.

Country over Club. Always

Don't think for a second the Germans don't remember losing the last Euro Cup to Spain. Losing the World Cup on South Africa soil.....lol oh well

I didn't ever doubt that this is something they remember. Just from a rational point of view. I think the competition in the CL knockout stages is better than in the wc knockout stages. :dontknow:

Country always over club isn't true btw. :wavefinger:

Basques for example would not choose their country (Spain) over their club (Bilbao). :dontknow:
