***Draft starts at 1:00 PM EST on 6/4/12 (Monday)***


What You Need To Know:

-You're a GM
-You draft the current NBA players & 2012 Draft rooks
-Choose a team, where you pick is random, it's a snake draft
-12 rounds, must have at least 10 picks/players at all times
-Trades, trades, trades
-We'll get someone to judge it. Last time it was our friends at LibertyBallers.
-Just flat out build the best team for as long as you can...Thunder/Heat are the teams you want to build this off of. Very good now, and for the next 5 years.
- Name dropping will not be tolerated.
- Salaries WILL NOT be taken into account, so feel free to choose whoever you want, as long as they are currently in the NBA, or will be in the draft this year.
- Trades can start happening immediately after the draft order gets released.
- Once you post your draft pick, you will not be able to go back & change that pick.
- Last but not least, HAVE A GOOD TIME & MAY The BEST GM WIN!

The New Draft Schedule:

1st Round - 5th Round: 6 hours between picks
6th Round - 8th Round: 4 hours between picks
9th Round - 12th Round - 2 hours between picks

Basically, if Trend is the 8th pick and I'm the 9th pick, and he makes his selection at 8:48 AM I have until 2:48 PM to make my selection. If I made my selection at 9:33 AM, then the person after me has until 3:33 PM, blah, blah, blah. So you don't have a certain time slot like we have had in years past. We are doing this so it's just more fair for everyone, including those who live on the other side of world (i.e. eyeatoma and I'm sure a few others). Will definitely take quite a committment, and is only for those who are checking the board a few times a day.

1. First, this should have been in the rules so my mistake, but please don't "name drop". It's not so much with Derrick Rose since everyone knows him, but just for future reference for everyone.

2. Injuries are really only considered for players who are chronically injured, like a Yao Ming. A DRose ACL tear really isn't that big of a deal. It keeps him out next year, but I don't think anyone thinks his career is done, etc, etc, etc.

3. Do not draft for the simulation whatsoever. That's just my opinion, but the real winner of this will be off of judging and our voting playoff. 2K12 will just be something for fun.

Last year's rubric was: Fit, Future, & Championship potential, with Championship potential being the BIGGEST factor. That rubric will carry over to this year. Choose your players wisely.

It's unfortunate but it seems like so much of this simulation relates to draft order. People on here talk so much about how a superstar is necessary to win a championship, so it seems like the top 10 pickers are going to have a huge advantage from the start.

How likely is it that judges are going to choose a team whose best player is (Insert name of second tier star) over a team whose best player is Lebron. I guess I'm just asking veterans of this game, in years past is it always someone at the top of the draft who wins or has anyone ever crafted a good enough supporting cast to win with a low pick in the first round.
