All I know is I don't want Bower or Shaq. Just about anyone else would be fine. However, Like most of you I want Weaver, Pritchard, or Lindsey as well as Walsh in the FO.

Most of it is listed on this Wiki page... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Bower ... ketball%29
Some good, some not so good. He just seems average to me. I really hope Orlando is going after guys who not only draft well but also has good vision for the future of the club so that we are always in contention.
Weaver, Lindsey, or Pritchard would fit that bill for me.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXV: Offseason Edition)
if Bower comes in, i take that as a sign that the Magic are trading Dwight, and want someone who's happy to be the fall guy and start the rebuild.
i also take it as a sign that nothing has changed in Orlando.

Lol I apologize for the murderer/rapist comment wasn't the best wording. I was moreso just trying to get the point across that as a franchise we should move past the Mickey Mouse good characters only type of team building. Winning is Winning IMO

Brian K. Schmitz @MagicInsider
Brian Shaw reportedly did not receive offer from Bobcats or maybe it was other way around. Shaw's waiting on the Magic.

League source: "Brian Shaw is the one guy, who as coach, as a former player, can get to Dwight Howard."
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. HIRE THIS MAN. I DON'T CARE THAT WE DON'T HAVE A GM.
No seriously, hire him.

Any combination of Shaw/?? Works for me. Even bower. C'mon, anyone can be better than Otis! Right?? Lol. Lindsey/Weaver would be my choice though. Fresh faces for a fresh new culture in Orlando.

*EDIT:
Although I doubt a new GM would be very happy that he did not get to hand select his coach. Even if Shaw would have been their guy, I can still see how it would be upsetting or a deal breaker to a guy like Lindsey or Weaver.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXV: Offseason Edition)
Hiring Brian Shaw and Weaver or Lindsey would be 2 steps in the right direction for this team.
1) Shaw is gonna be a great HC, and still young so he could be here for a long time
2) We would have a GM with a realistic vision on the game of basketball, unlike Otis "I like having no backup Center or athletic players" Smith
Both these guys can help our team take 2 more steps towards success.
1) Make the team play a smoother, more creative offense. No more "3 .. 2 .. 1 .. BOMBS AWAY !!" offense
2) Make the team more balanced. Find a better balance between Veterans/Young guys + Athleticism/Shooting
There's still a lot of work to be done. That's why I like the fact that Martins is taking his time before hiring someone. Make sure you make the right decision. And don't let the past play a part in this, so please no Bower. He's been on the market for some time, and there's a reason Weaver/Lindsey/Pritchard get more intrest from other teams lookin for a GM than Bower. I never liked how he managed the Hornets. Made some questionable decisions ..
Giving the chance to Shaw & Weaver/Lindsey would be a fresh start for this team ..

Now this, I can agree with.

If Alex said he wants a proven coach then we sure as hell are not hiring Shaw.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXV: Offseason Edition)
Bower would be my last choice out of the list of GM canidates we have seen. If we hire him though I am willing to give him a chance. The guy spend 14 years in N.O. doing everything from scouting to coaching and GM. He dealt with a team moving to different cities and ownership that was not commited. Otis had worn out the fan base, we should be excited that we are looking at a fresh start.

Did he really say that? I thought he said he wanted someone with "championship" experience. I'm only basing this off the press conference he gave after the firing.

We need to lock in a GM. I dont want Otis Smiths staff working our draft and coach search.

It would really be lame if we hired McMillan and Shaw ends up in Charlotte.
