That has to be at least a 45 inch vertical :o All the talent in the world yet he can't dominate. Why can't guys like this have at least mediocre work ethic and heart?

I've been on the PJ III bandwagon for quite a while, But i still want BC to take a hard look at Lamb and Lillard before going after PJ III. This is going to be an exciting draft.

It took Odom several years to be a consistent player in the NBA, so perhaps it could happen with Jones as well.

I don't think PJ3 has the court-vision that LO has. And his ball-handling is severely overrated.

uggghh I feel myself getting sucked back into deceiving workout hype, especially with photos like that. Perry Jones just looks like such a great practice player, great body, fluid and yet watching him this year was just so unbelievably frustrating.

I had written him off but I'm getting that soft spot back for a player who clearly has so much talent. It's such a gamble to take him but you win huge if he can turn a corner mentally. I think it's clear from this season that if he had come out a year ago it could have been a potentially disastrous mistake and fractured an already brittle confidence. If Perry Jones has hit a point in his maturity where he really starts believing he can be be a special player then it could be the right time. I'm still not entirely convinced but clearly some players just need an extra year or two. If he is really ready now to mentally take on the responsibilities of being a pro then he could be special if he spends the first few years under a great coach.

I'm coming round to Perry Jones III again but even if the top 4 SG/SF's are off the board I'm still not convinced enough to take him over a handful of other players.

I think the only way the raptors pick him is if the first 7 picks are (Davis, Robinson, Drummond, MKG, Beal, Lamb, Barnes). Then the raptors do it, I think. Ofcourse I want the raps to take him

He has a chance to sore up the draft board, it's all up to him. If he shows that he's dedicated to becoming a great player and maximizing his potential, and changes his views on being drafted by Toronto, I think the Raps will pick him at 8.

Last season he talked about how he loved the city and the structure of Toronto - he even said it's better than his home town... Dallas. He did however say he'd be upset about being drafted by us because he "doesn't like crossing customs" everyday. I think he's still immature and has a lot of growing up to do. Once that happens, I don't see any problems with him. The main thing is him realizing his potential... and it sounds like he's already starting to do so.

Personally I'm not getting that excited about him.

I knew he was going to be a Combine King.

There is good reason scouts have been saying that he has everything needed to be a superstar and that he has scary POTENTIAL. The problem since highschool is he has never lived up to it or anything close to it. I've said before that for him that the best thing that could happen is to end up on a team (more specifically our coach) like ours. I have zero faith that PJ every becomes this freak talent he's capable of BUT a coach like Casey I believe can atleast make him a really good player. At best I think Case can make him a 20-21ppg player (PJ has the talent to do even more) but that will take A LOT of work...

I will flip out if we draft him ahead of Lamb but if he's off the board I'm not sure what more I can really hope for...I wanna believe the Lillard hype but I just can't get over Weber and I love Waiters but he's like DWade without the athleticism (and that's a MAJOR part of who Wade is).

Lamb is plan A i believe for us, if Lamb is gone then we should target Waiters next although it will be a little stretch taking him at 8th, we need to address the guard situation. If these fail then I have no problem taking a gamble on PJIII although he does look suspect(bust potential)we would definitely have to move at least 1/3 PFS (Amir hopefully, still have faith in Ed), or both.

I think Casey is the perfect coach for him. He'd definitely get the best out of him. If we were to draft PJ with our pick, I see him coming off the bench next season for sure, unless he really shows that he belongs.

Personally, I'd draft him over anyone besides Davis, Beal, and MKG if he showed that he's determined to become the best SF he can. Also, if he shows that he's not as immature as he was last season. He has a ton of growing up to do.

This is all impossible to tell as all prospects are going to give the answers they think teams want to hear and Perry already has the physical gifts necessary to shine...also PJ has been saying the same thing about becoming more dominant every year since highschool; his words are as meaningless as they get.

What Perry becomes will be based on what the coach and his staff get out of him because Jones has already proven that he's not going to do it on his own.

If we happen to pick Perry I won't be mad, I'll just wait and see. I just hope we don't have two of the biggest enigmas on one NBA team.
