ATL turns around and signs and trades Hinrich (needed as Nash departs) and #23 and future second for Warrick and #13.
Trades J. Smith to GS for #7 and R,Jefferson.
Finally, ATL trades Gordon for Walton (amnesty) and Gibson to the Cavs. Trades Warrick to the Cavs for a furure 2nd.
Selects Ross at #7, Perry at #9 and Moultrie at #13.
Resigns FA I.Johnson. Collins, Pargo and Green. Signs FA R. Allen (1.5 M)
JT- Pargo (FA)- [b]Gibson
Ross (#7)- Allen (FA)- Green (FA)
Perry (#9)- Jefferson- Magette- Ross
Horford- Moultrie (#13)- I. Johnson (FA)
Monroe- Collins (FA)- Horford
Athletic and long starting 5, experience coming off the bench especialy Allen brought in to mentor Ross, Jefferson for Perry while Al can do the same with Moultrie.
4 potential C with Monroe- Horford- Moultrie and Collins.
Thoughts? ATL could amenty either Jefferson or Maggette in place of Walton for extra savings or if not trade them for multiple pieces to do separate trades later for 2nd picks e.g Childress and Telfair. In that case, we would have to trade Chil and the future 2nd from the Cavs for cap releif only!...
so the Hawks are going to get Monroe and the #9 by only giving up a 2nd round pick Marvin and Zaza? and on top of that get rid of JJ monster contract by only taking back Gordon's ugly but way smaller contract. I know JJ is a better player than Gordon but the difference in how better JJ is to Gordon is not equal to the difference in how much more JJ gets paid.
Then we parley Hinrich the 23 pick and a future second for Warrick and #13. Why wouldn't the sun just sign Kirk since he is a unrestricted free agent and keep their pick? at least say we will take Childress but I can't see them even doing that.
bottom line I just can't see any team doing any of these trades. only ATL and Det (maybe). but Det doesn't do it without the 2nd overall pick coming from CHA and CHA isn't giving up that pick for that bullchit.....

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread
I got a draft day trade..... Josh Smith and the 23rd pick to Portland for 6th ,11th picks, and Wesley Matthews. Hawks draft a big with 6th pick if one of Drummond or Thomas Robinson is there (in that order) if not get one of Harrison Barnes, MKG, Perry Jones , or Jeremy Lamp (in that order) if we get one on the bigs with the first pick take take one of those wings (above) with pick 11. if all are gone by the 11th pick trade down maybe Bostons 21st and 22nd picks. with those picks get two of Terrence Jones, Jeffery Taylor, Moe Harkless, or Royce White (in that order).
if we don't get one of Drummond or Robinson and we take one of those wings with the the 6th, take one of Jon Henson, Meyers Leonard, or Zeller with the 11th pick. I would love to get Tony Wroten how ever. I believe he is the next Rondo.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread
I like either
Trading Horford to get a good center, or just a serviceable one, and a combo player that could play both at the 4 and the 5, as Speights, for example. Then Smith could share time at both forward positions.
Get a medium class center straight away and, more or less, we have all that together.
I do not think much about the draft thing. I am sure we are not trading anybody, we are not getting a higher pick, anything...

Marvin to CAVS for Luke Walton and #24
They need a SF/PF combo while Marv needs a change of scenery.
Walton becomes a nice trade assett by the trade deadline with one year left on his contract
ATL could also look at signing Antwane Jamison (2 y at 5M)
Teague-Pargo (resigned)- FA
JJ- Green (resigned)- Wroten (24)
Smoothe- Joseph (43)- Jamison
Horford- Jamison- Johnson
Zaza- Ezeli (23)- FA or Collins

GSW's trade: Beidrins/D Wright/#7
Get: J Smith
ATL trades: J Smith/M Williams/Zaza
Gets: Okafor/Beidrins/Wright/#7/ #10
NOH trades: Okafor/#10
Gets: Zaza/M Williams
Atlanta still has a first round pick (23rd) they can send to NOH or GSW. which one do you all believe needs it?
If we take one of the bigs with 7th pick we take Beal, Ross, Jeremy Lamb, Rivers , or Waiters with the 10th pick
The only two bigs I would be wanting in the top ten would be Leonard or Drummond. So if we are unable to land one of those take the best BDA. I may even take a flier on Perry Jones at 10. Then we bring in a big with the 2nd round pick either Henry Sims Robert Sacre or Kyle O’Quinn
here is the Possible roster after all moves are made.
Teauge/ pargo
JJ/Green
Gerald Wallace (FA)/Terrence Ross (10th pick)
Horford/ Ivan
Okafor/ Beans/ Leonard(7th pick)
Sims or O'Quinn (43rd pick)
(Free Agents depth)
Delonte West and one of Vladimir Rad, Yi, or Hasheem Thabeet
Get: J Smith
ATL trades: J Smith/M Williams/Zaza
Gets: Okafor/Beidrins/Wright/#7/ #10
NOH trades: Okafor/#10

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread
I think your core should be blown up. I think Smith will leave via free agency because your f.o probably want trade him at the deadline because yall will be like 2-4 seed next year by the deadline, so Horford is the only trade chip.
As a Bobcats fan I will offer #2+Tyrus Thomas/Matt Carroll for Al Horford
Then the Kings will probably offer #5+Salmons for Josh Smith.
That gives you guys both Robinson and Drummond. Then amnesty Joe. I think the Cavs would put in a crazy bid for his contract especially if they draft Barnes.

Josh for Deng and the #29? We get an all-star SF and a late pick and Chicago gets an explosive player who would go great along with Rose

Deng's lone All Star selection is debatable and you are adding another mouth and hefty contract to a position that can and will be manned by JJ and Marv. Plus Chicago fans despise Josh's game, already have Taj, Boozer and Noah making his contributions null and he really wouldn't get much of a chance to play with Rose because the whole purpose of trading Deng is to cut salary. Josh expires and Rose isn't expected back til after January.

If the Hawks decide to blow up their roster, will you be happy with a deal like : Eric Gordon + Rashard Lewis(expiring) for Joe Johnson and Al Horford?

I'm still for Josh and #23 to the Kings for #5 and Tyreke. Drummond will very likely be there.

I like this one. Then I would try a sign and trade Hinrich for Jason Thompson (3x 3 to 4.5M)
Draft Drummond at 5 and Murphy or H.Thompson at 43. Thompson might be able to plug in some minutes at the 3 because of his size.
Sign and start Wallace or barnes at SF.
Teague- Evans- Pargo
JJ- Evans- H.Thompson (43)
G. Wallace/M.Barnes- Marvin- H. Thompson
Al- J.Thompson- Ivan
Zaza- Drummond (5)- J. Thompson

Bulls open to trading Deng or Noah for a 1st and some type of trade exception. Wonder if they would do Noah for Zaza, Marvin, and a 1st?
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7rayrvn
Then draft the best Sf available at 23.
Jeff/Machado/Pargo
Joe/Willie/
Josh/Jeff Taylor/

Denver does not have the tools to get that conversation started. You need a 1st or 2nd team All NBA player to even get that convo started.

nobody would be upset if Noah came in and the Hawks still got to keep Josh and Al.
i really don't know what Chicago is thinking right now, they would be dumb to tank that hard.
