well according to the internet
Treatment
In some cases, no treatment is needed.
If there is pus or a fever, or if the infection is caused by bacteria, antibiotics may be prescribed. Antibiotics are not effective against viral infections.
If there is an abscess, surgery to drain it or aspiration may be done.
Practice good oral hygiene. Brushing your teeth and flossing thoroughly at least twice per day may help with healing and prevent an infection from spreading. If you are a smoker, stop smoking to help with recovery.
Warm salt water rinses (1/2 teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of water) may be soothing and keep the mouth moist.
Drink lots of water and use sugar-free lemon drops to increase the flow of saliva and reduce swelling. Massaging the gland with heat may help.

saw that herm. my doctor told me not to take any sour food since salivating will increase the swelling and will hurt.
here's a question for you herm: I'm thinking of investing/saving my money, should I go for a time deposit or just plain savings account? thinking of using this for my wedding.

when are you getting married/how long do you have until you need the money?
also keep in mind that for time deposits typically don't allow you to add to them as you go

probably in 3 years? also, I find it convenient that I don't need to touch my money and quarterly,semi-annually, annually, I can get a certain percentage from it. or would it be wise to put it in mutual funds so any time I can add to it?

Re: Comm Thread: Ballin & Breakin!
so tugs, do you have most of the money for the wedding all saved up already and you just need a place to put it so you don't spend it?
i would setup a time deposit for it (there are a variety of different time lengths so you can shop for interest rates, and time it so that it will be done by the time you need it so you don't have to take a penalty for withdrawing it too early)
and when it gets closer to the wedding and the deposit has matured, then you can put it into a savings account until you need it and not having to worry about withdrawal penaltites

just a quarter of the targeted total herm (assuming costs will stay the same and prices of goods won't change much), but I think saving it will help, a lot.

that I'll do.

nice suggestion with the transferring the money to a savings account once it matures. that's the problem with time deposits that's why I'm hesitant. the "what to use in case of emergencies" funds. I think I'd leave that with medical insurances.
planning on where to invest money is a lot more fulfilling than thinking on where to spend it (luxury goods/services). though one can argue the things I stated can be viewed as that. there's a thin line now separating necessities and luxuries.

LOL
it's already been confirmed that it is indeed you that doesn't know what you're talking about. you can stop trying to save face now, i wasn't even going to say anything about your blunder until someone else brought it back up. in fact, i was puzzled why you even opted to say anything in the first place.
anyway, it's been a pleasure.
