It's fine. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss a change in the clock for picks.

For real, I think I speak for all of us if I say we really appreciate the time and effort you're putting into this thing (and PK5 as well of course).

+1

For real, just making sure part of my brain is always aware of when I have to draft is tough. I can't imagine how much you all have put into it. But its a lot of fun and running great, so thanks for making this thing happen.

Not trying to sell my pick from the other day for the judges or anything but Monday was a rough day for me and I had a ton of driving to do....Didn't get in till early Tuesday morning and then spent the entire day unpacking from vacation ish...Personal stuff...BUT... I have been uploading pics of my picks and why I like them (which I think is a good thing some of us are doing).
We are in the sixth round now but in the fifth I selected LANDRY FIELDS and never put up a pic or personal scouting report so here it is late but still here...If some of you care....I know ive been reading them from other posters.

Image

I took him because I think he's a very good all around basketball player and a class act high character dude that has got a lot of potential ahead of him. I think he reminds me of John Starks with more size and without the douchebag attitude. Thought he would be a good fit next to Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. Thing I like most about Fields is that he does everything very well... I mean he's not great at one thing but he's solid at pretty much every aspect on the floor. His basketball IQ is right there with the likes of a Grant Hill.
I wanted to build a team a high character guys that were smart basketball players and build them around a potential superstar in Kyrie Irving and a potential all star in Derrick Favors. SO far so good. This has been quite a challenge so far for me and you guys all have some really great basketball minds and this draft has just been a real treat to be a part of. Thank you Trendz, PK, Dilbert, KrazyD, Kop, and anyone else I missed.
But yeah....west coast kid in Fields goin to the Valley of the SUN... I lke it. Apologies for this being so late.

ON a side not (OT) I hope we throw some money at Fields this offseason if Iggy gets traded) Nuff said this is the draft.

im not so sure about hayward as a SF in the nba as he seems to struggle more there than at SG, but fields is a nice fit for you this late for sure

Both he and Fields are interchangeable and thats why I did that. The concerns of Hayward at the three went into thought as well. Thing is Fields was playing the 3 in New York his rookie season and was well on his way to winning rookie of the year until Melo got there. They made him switch to shooting guard and he began to struggle... It makes no difference to me but I had thought about that and now that you called it out I will switch their positions. Just means more brainstorming for my bench but thats what this is all about pimp.

Hey I don't feel like reading through all 91 pages of this thread, or trying to assemble the rosters by looking at the draft. Can someone start a thread where each person participating posts their current roster and updates it as they make picks? I'd like to follow along, but this is exhausting.

With one stickied thread and only 30-something posts that can be updated, we can follow along and make comments about each team so far. I think that would be fun.

Trendz does a good job of updating the picks as they come in and most of us have pasted the rosters in our Signature witht the teams attached to them. One of my personal favorites so far is the one KRAZY d put together. The Hill/ Harden backcourt is going to be better than expected and I think Pekovic is an all star in 3 or 4 years. Brook Lopez can get healthy and focus on his low post game again and Derozen is Hardens Robin.

I wouldn't be opposed to a separate thread, but I think the plan was to do that once the draft was completed. I would wait for Trend or PK5 to chime in.

im trying to debate right now what i should do with the rest of my roster...

my 2 choices are:

1. continue with the youthful picks who are still good players right now, but could be REALLY good in another year or 2

or

2. get some vets off the bench to be leaders and solid off the bench so that this team has some leadership to go far in the playoffs

i think the way my starting 5 is set up right now this is a deep playoff team wether there are vets or not.. but the vets would definately solidfy it as so... hmmmm

FYI - Shadester76 has expired. He had until 12 to make his pick since JrueMatic made his pick before 9 am.

Trend has that pick as well, and he's on the clock. He usually shows up in the early afternoon, so after that we should hopefully get moving again.
