this could be a good thing. could try to work a sign and trade or straight up trade if he opts in.

Dan Savage ‏@Dan_Savage
The @NBA has approved an amendment to @JameerNelson's contract, delaying the potential opt out date from June 15 to June 29.

I need some answers :-?

Friday after the draft is a rather odd deadline.

Clark has a player option, don't know if he took it or not?

Without Nelson/Wafer/Clark/JJ/Anderson/Orton/Ish we're at 8mil

we could have ~$14-17 mil depending on the sources for contracts. We could go after DWill... If we could package a few picks with hedo, we could have a Dwight/DWill/JSmith core after next summer.

Either Jameer wants to see who the new GM will be and their vision for the team or a trade is being cooked up.

If we can somehow trade Turk, let Jameer opt out, waive Redick, and renounce Ryan, we can sign DWill outright.

It gives us the option to trade Jameer on draft night, I'm not sure why Jameer would agree to that. Very odd situation though, and with no GM still, our future remains cloudy.

Can it give us that right? I was under the impression that a player can't be traded after the trade deadline of the year that he can opt out of a deal.

I'm not sure how the whole trading a player with an option works. That would be a great question to ask the CBA expert that I no longer remember...

Nelson and his agent, Steve Mountain, asked the Magic for a deadline extension because the team has not yet hired a general manager to replace Otis Smith. Nelson and Mountain want to learn what the eventual hire's plans are for Nelson and for the rest of the team.

Full Story: http://ht.ly/bAErT

Josh Robbins ‏@JoshuaBRobbins
Jameer wanted an extension because he & his agent want to speak w/new GM before he makes a choice.

Josh Robbins ‏@JoshuaBRobbins
The team didn't have to agree to this. But it seems like the #Magic showed him some loyalty after the GM search dragged on.

Does this mean that Martins expects the GM/Coach search to drag on?

If Jameer opts out, we cut JJ, waive Anderson's rights, find a way to trade either J Rich or Davis and use the stretch provision on the guy we don't trade we will be sitting real nice. Sign Deron Williams outright kinda nice.

With Hedo, Q, and Duhon coming off the books the following season.

I was pretty sure about it too.

arkknight1988, Wafer is already gone and we didnt pick Orton's option either.

Can we sign Ray Allen to MLE and Rashard Lewis to LLE while we're at it? Could totally deal with this ;)

Dwight Howard, Daniel Orton
Rashard Lewis, Earl Clark, Justin Harper
Hedo Turkoglu, Quentin Richardson
Ray Allen, DeAndre Liggins
Deron Williams, Chris Duhon, Ish Smith

With Hedo, Duhon, and potentially Shard/Allen/scrubs coming off the books for 2013.

Take it for what it's worth, but DJChino (102Jamz) who loosely knows a lot of the guys, told me that Jameer packed up his stuff and moved his cars out 3 weeks ago.
