I don't know why you guys want Jameer to opt out. It's better to have him coming off the books next year instead of this.

Sloan maybe wants to wait for an Orlando interview and that's why he pulled out?

I think he just realized he's not that desperate to get back into the NBA...

Blame Otis for Magic being ultra careful about picking the next GM...

I can't believe we've been without a POB/GM/Coach for nearly 5 weeks in our most important summer in franchise history...

Actually that's true. We don't want another Otis scenario so we should take our time.

I love how well respected Lindsey is around the league and how the Devos' are considering hiring Bower instead...

Do you REALLY think the Devos' have all the pros and cons on a white board of each candidate and have been laboring over the decision for the last 5 weeks? I really have my doubts.

Of any team to screw it up, we'd be the one. The fact that Bower needs to meet Devos is a travesty.

Since when did the Orlando Magic become so associated being screw ups that you start to assume they're going to get things wrong?

If Dennis Lindsey, one of the most respected and up and coming executives in the league, who has turned down many GM offers in the past, is interested in the job, it shouldn't take over a month to make a decision. The fact that Bower is still in the hunt over more qualified candidates really scares me.

Off the top of my head (semi recent stuff):

Johnny Davis
Chris Jent
Brian Hill (the second time)
Billy Donovan
Otis

All of those were head scratchers. Who the hell would give a man like Otis (with very little experience) FULL control of an organization??? Only the Magic.

Since letting Shaq walk
Since trading Mike Miller
Since hiring a hockey GM
Since trading T-Mac
Since trading Mobley for Doug Christie
Since hiring coaches Brian Hill, Johnny Davis, Chris Jent, and Brian Hill again
Since signing Rashard Lewis to a max deal
Since drafting Reece Gaines, Jerry Sasser, and Fran Vazquez
Since signing Chris Duhon
Since trading Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, and MP for J-Rich, Hedo, and Earl Clark
Since the VP drunk dials Dwight Howard
Since the head coach airs out all of the dirty laundry

Stan and Doc were the lone good coaches we hired in the franchise's history and we've never had a very competent front office. We've had 4 great players walk thru Orlando and 3 left because the front office blows and 1 more on the way. There's a reason you don't see any jerseys retired in Orlando. Just a lack of competence in the front office and a lack of apathy from ownership. However, I think Dwight has finally woken ownership up this past year.
