Re: Official Trade Thread XIX
Dorell Wright is a 3point shooting machine at Sf
He makes two 3 pointers per game at 40% and 10ppg in 27 minutes
I think he is between 8 th to 10th better Sf in NBA
The problem is that he has only 1 year of contract left at 4 milions and Wiz could only have him 1 year

Guyannagrizz, It's very frustrating to have a discussion with you because you get your facts wrong and you don't even understand the CBA.
Dorell Wright is a decent 3-point shooter, not a "machine". He averages .360 from 3-point range which is nice, but nothing to write home about. He ranks 29th in 3P% among the 45 players who averaged 4 or more 3-point attempts per game. His numbers are about the same as Jodie Meeks or Anthony Morrow.
He'd be a nice fit on this team but he's a fairly easy-to-find type of player. I see no reason to sacrifice Booker to get him when we can sign Danny Green or Brandon Rush to do the same thing.

What about this wild idea:
Wiz trade Nene for Harden+Perkins
OKC gets a a darn good big man in Nene who gives them a low post presence and balances out the team. They also get rid of Perkins and is 8.7 PER.
Wiz get Harden and extend him to form the core duo with Wall. They put Seraphin in as the starting center with Vessley backing him up. They then draft MKG at #3.
NEW LINEUP:
PG: Wall/Mack
SG: Harden/Crawford
SF: MKG/Singleton
PF: Booker/Vessley
C: Seraphin/Perkins

That's a very interesting trade, mhd.
It might be something that makes sense at the Trade Deadline if OKC comes to the conclusion that they won't be able to keep Harden. It'll also give the Wizards another half-season with Nene for him to help change the culture. We can throw in Crawford to provide them some offense off the bench to replace Harden.

I agree it's not good trade
But what i'm try to do is to have a good Sf starter and to draft Beal
I also think that it's important to be patient with Singleton because he is a young player and hé has shawn good things this end of season

NBA source tells me Emeka Okafor and Trevor Arizona have been traded to the Washington Wizards for Rashard Lewis and the #46 pick

Wait, what?
Nope, just checked my calendar - not April 1.
Does not include the #10 in any form?
Uh oh.

It HAS to include the #10, or some other asset. 2 negative value contracts?
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Why?
Okafor is redundant with Nene and Seraphin. Ariza is a decent wing, but no better than a guy like Danny Green who is obtainable in free agency. Unfortunately, in this scenario, we end up with no cap flexibility next summer. It just doesn't make any sense unless we're getting back a high pick. Instead, we're giving up a 2nd rounder. WTF?

That's such a dumb ass trade, we should at least get their number 10 pick for that. We are giving them cap space and a pick for nothing. Fire EG if we arent getting back the 10th pick

Re: Official Trade Thread XIX
If Emeka Okafor has some injury problem, it's a bad moove
Ariza is a good Sf player and it's really the position who needs to be improved in the team
If Emeka Okafor is in good shape, the paint Will be strong
a reliable Sf (ariza)
Draft Beal
Hey, if it's true, this team is a playoff contendent

They really got taken with this deal. Wait, that's what I usually say about most Ernie deals. Of course, it's never Ernie's fault, it's always the dastardly and devious fault of the owner. This means they don't have to worry about free agency for the next two seasons. It also means that Robinson is almost certainly no the pick and makes Beal seem more likely if he's there.
I don't like it, but after thirty years of not liking moves from this franchise, why start now?

Re: Official Trade Thread XIX
With our GLUT of bigs, I think Booker (unfortunetly) is the guy who gets moved. What about:
Booker+#32 for Roddy B+#17?
Booker gives Dallas a MUCH needed youbng cheap big, while Roddy B is a huge upgrade over Mack. Plus, he's french and can bond with Seraphin. Wiz could take best shooter available at #17 while Dallas saves the potential garunteed contract of #17.

mhd, I like Roddy Bobo a lot, I'd do that one pretty quickly.

Re: Official Trade Thread XIX
Based on Ted's blog comments, I really don't expect this to be the last move we see here. Aside from Booker, I really think Singleton and Crawford will be shopped leading up to the draft.
I for one like the move. Nene is not going to play 82 games next year and now between him, Seraphin, and Okafor we have a really good deep rotation up front. In addition it helps address rebounding which is an issue.
Ariza is a clear upgrade to Singleton. His shooting was down but I think he was trying to do more than he should have been in NO. As a 3 and D guy shooting corner 3's, he could be very effective. He also runs the floor very well & unlike Singleton, can finish on the break.
Ernie gets criticized for his trades but I can only recall one where he missed (the 5th pick). He did well in the Caron for Kwame deal, the Hinrich & Seraphin deal, the Hinrich for Crawford/Evans/ 1st rd pick deal, and the Nene deal.

Why. Now they have two smaller contracts of players who actually have some value. Not like they can't be moved again.
