http://www.nba.com/2012/news/features/0 ... ef:nbahpt1at least based on the recent consensus.
And in regards to Portland at 6, only 2 names have been circling draft mocks and they are Lillard and Drummond. Only one mock had another name (Rivers) but that's just Hoopsworld......
Yes Lamb does have a lot of potential, and don't get me wrong, I have been excited about the idea of drafting Lamb... but his injuries (ankle and shoulder which has been flagged as will be recurrent throughout career) + Lamb's agent (preventing him from working out at the combine) + just Lamb's overall lackadaisical interviews just give off a bad vibe. And (at least right now) it's shown to hurt his draft stock based on the consensus. And let's not forget, even before the draft lottery, Chad Ford and DX had Lamb in the 11-13 draft slot as BPA. nbadraft.net had him in the 7-8th spot, but even now, nbadraft.net has him at 14 based on the recent news. Yes things can and will change in the next 2 days.. but you speak as if Waiters and Lillard are inferior prospects.
One thing the Raptors have wanted is someone who will attack the basket.

Crop-3990/Based on FTA adjusted per 40 mins, Jeremy Lamb actually has the lowest score based on the 3. yes the Raptors also need 3 point shooting, but those are skills both Lillard and Waiters provide as well.
Waiters is a bench player, he doesn't have the measurements and style-of-play(a power player/runner without elite leaping ability and shooting) to be a starter in the NBA. (at least if he was a shooter, but he isn't)
Lillard has great measurements at the PG position but has not faced any big school/competition in 2/3 years; this would be a huge risk (I m confident to say Lamb would have averaged 25ppg in the Big Sky, if not 30)
As a Freshman particularly in the tournament, Lamb was just a stand-out, a star not afraid of the moment (it tells a lot)
Let's not forget he was on the FIBA 2011-Worlds under-19 ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM with our "great Hope" Jonas.
When you have close-to-the-rim BIGS like Drummond and Oriakhi(that just cannot stretch the floor), it makes it difficult for anyone to attack the rim so those stats about Lamb are deceptive.
At 8, it would be a steal!
Talking about Mock Drafts, Chad Ford had Morrison ahead of Rudy Gay in his board; I certainly didn't, did you?
