Thanks for pointing out "why in the world would we trade Dwight to an Eastern Conference team"? He goes to Brooklyn on his own terms, not ours.

INTERESTING NOTE:!!!!!!

I know, wrong thread, but I just heard, literally just now, on ESPN Rik Bucher just said:
"Dwight demanded a trade to Brooklyn. The Magic have to do it. They will have to take whatever the Nets will give them."

WTF ... lol geez. These guys are on TV. Brussard said one thing, Bucher contradicts him an hour later. We need to send Cuban back to ESPN to rip these no fact having talking heads.

Just wanted to drop a little humor to the thread. Clowns.

So if the Nets screw themselves to the point where they cannot even sign Dwight next summer, that has to open up our trade options. For example, at that point Lakers could see that Dwight wouldn't leave nxt summer because he would have nowhere else to go. Same possibly for other teams. This would make them more willing to trade for Dwight.

It makes you wonder if management fired Otis because he didn't trade Dwight after he didn't sign the extension, as was indicated by the Devos family that such would have been done if so. Devos was thinking one thing and told Dwight. Otis was thinking another, perhaps give us another year to develop a team, maybe sign him long term after this season.

Otis is an idiot to think we could convince Dwight to stay with offseason moves now. That, as well as our cap situation is probably the reason why Otis was fired. That and I just think Martins and Van Gundy didnt like each other. As a matter of fact I'll bet alot of people in the organization didnt like Van Gundy. Ill bet he was just a hard person to work with.

Find the best deal for Dwight Henny, and give us a young, exciting team we can love to watch for years to come.

Wow that is depressing. Dwight is like an on and off girlfriend that you're attached to.

Nothing can remind me more than that song by Katy Perry Hot N Cold.. We should play that song for him when he returns to play a game in Orlando.

We don't have to do anything. We can trade him to Milwaukee if we desire. We have all the leverage right now -- the ball is in our court. Make him "waste" another year if he has to.

I suppose this must also include some sort of exception allowing Brooklyn to ignore salary cap considerations "for the good of the league."

I have to admit I never realized that when you sign a contract, you then decide how it should be interpreted and to whom you can, will, and must be traded. Do you also get to decide for whom you will be traded? This situation has been educational for me, I thought Dwight was obligated to either play for us, or wherever we trade him, in exchange for the best deal we can get.

We just need to call the Lakers and get Bynum, he is the best we will get or Dwight.

Ric Bucher just said on ESPN that "Dwight demanding a trade to Brooklyn and only Brooklyne means Orlando will have to take what Brooklyn decides to give them."

What an ass clown.

LMAO! What a moron Bucher is. There are plenty of teams out there that will rent Howard with better assets.

You never want to trade one superstar for multiple players whose combined talent doesn't even equal said superstar. That's just stupid math. You want to get the best single player in return you can AND cap flexibility to add other great players in the future.

Their is only one trade that is feasible that does this.
BYNUM
And here's the truth about him:
He's younger than Dwight.
He's stronger than Dwight.
He's meaner than Dwight.
His offensive game is superior to Dwight's.

There were two major knocks on Bynum. His selfish bad attitude. His injury concerns.
But after Dwight's back injury and the way Dwight has handled himself in this entire process, can we even say Dwight has an advantage in those areas any longer?

The bottom line - in a few years, there's a great chance Bynum is the best center in the NBA. Not Dwight. Dealing for him now may end up being a steal.

Not really the case. We can realistically trade him to any team that made or was close to the playoffs last year and said team would be convinced they could win next year with Dwight. The reward of winning next season would outweigh the cost of trading valuable pieces to us for a one year rental. Problem is the team can't give up its best players for Dwight or else they'll have no shot at winning next year. There are only a few teams in positions to trade for Dwight. Outside of the nets, I don't want to factor in the chances he resigns somewhere into the trade, I'm figuring all other teams are trading for 1 year of the coward.

Western conference is the best landing spot for coward. Lakers, Thunder, Rockets. East would be down to Bulls, Celtics, Heat, Knicks, Nets.

He's pursuing possible legal actions against the Magic. That tells me the Magic failed to live up to their end of the bargain.

Everyone wants to blame Dwight and say he's to blame, but IMO the Magic are to blame for this debacle.
