i guess that means that english and jenkins are definitely in play at #31. also means barnes is definitely in play at #2 or #4.

getting reggie williams back to 100% would also be a huge boost. he was terrible last year. hopefully he will put in some hard work this summer to get jumper back to automatic and also get in better shape.

Sounds like a smokescreen to drub up more bids for Beal

This is most probably correct; I think we meant Beal not Barnes and it's genius by our FO.

Straight after the lottery both Cleveland and Washington would have been confident either Robinson/MKG were going to be our pick but after the combine/workouts Drummond,Beal and Barnes joined the pack and now they have to seriously consider trading up to our pick to take their guy.

People have said there is not much of a difference between players 2-6 but they haven't considered need and these teams both need Beal and/or Barnes.

Personally I think Washington is going to trade up though it makes the most sense for Cleveland too(to jump Washington)

Bidding wars bring great value and there wasn't one before our FO started playing mind games.

not sure if you guys read the bonnell chat today, but he was asked who was practicing in charlotte every day. he said that mullens, biz, carroll and higgins have been there every single day and that kemba and hendo have been coming off and on. i love to see that our young guys are busting their asses in the gym this summer. and while carroll may not be an NBA level player any more, nobody can ever question his work ethic. he is always in the gym every day in the summer.

i havent heard what tyrus, diop and reggie are doing this summer. judging from diop's and reggie's tweets they seem to just be chilling. i hope those guys are busting their asses in a gym somewhere though. you would think that if tyrus had any shred of desire left in his body, he would be here in charlotte with biz, mullens, higgins and carroll every day.

Can't wait to see what Dunlap can do with Kemba and now Gordon. It'll be interesting to see how he uses them as they are similar in many aspects. Does Dunlap feel comfortable with Gordon getting his minutes as the back-up Point and 2 guard? How will Dunlap's rotation end up? Will Dunlap feel comfortable going small with Hendo at SF (he was effective there for a small stretch last year)? Kind of funny that part of hiring Dunlap is that he allows the front office to do their thing. Yet, Dunlap says he wants 3 point shooting and a day later he got it. Haha. Probably just a coincidence, but still funny.

Please just amnesty TT already. I'm tired of seeing his lazy, underweight ass on our bench. I also don't want him on the floor, because he sucks.

From Bonnell

Per K.C. Johnson: Bulls assistant Rick Brunson joining Mike Dunlap on #Bobcats coaching staff.

All I really know about him is that he played in the Australian National Basketball League.

Can we get an all NBL coaching lineup? :D

edit: Dunlap actually coached Brunson in the NBL.
small world.

Battery should like that. Brunson played with the Knicks for a few years.

from Wikipedia
"From January to April 2007, Brunson worked as an assistant coach with the Denver Nuggets, focusing on player development. From 2007 to 2009, he was with the University of Virginia as the Cavaliers' director of basketball operations. In May 2009, Brunson was hired as assistant coach for the Hartford Hawks men's basketball team. On September 9, 2010, Brunson was hired as an assistant coach for the Chicago Bulls."

so he's not totally inexperienced.

I guess there are some wiley old NBL veterans we can send over.

He coached at Denver during the same time Dunlap did. Explains why he's on the staff.

Well there's our focus on development guy it sounds like. Now we need an experienced guy and hopefully Stephen Silas will be back. Them not announcing that he is back kind of worries me that he won't be.

Another assistant coach who will focus on player development.

I really hope they would tap a good big man coach.

Did some research and found out Mike and Rick have a long relationship.

Rick played his first year of professional basketball in Australia ... for Adelaide. His coach? Mike Dunlap. And, of course, they briefly worked together on the Denver staff. Since Rick was hired shortly after his retirement, I'm guessing Dunlap recommended him for a position.

If Dunlap thinks that highly of him, he's obviously a guy we want here.

I'm cool with the Brunson hire and I agree that Stephen Silas should come back but we really need some experience.

I'd really like us to take a big look at Terry Stotts or P.J Carlesimo for Assistant Head coach; Stotts is in Dallas and Carlesimo is in Jersey.

I'm sure there is a plan in place for his asst coaches. My guess is a big man coach is next up. We'll see. But if this fits Dunlap's plan, I'm all for the hire.
