This makes no sense..don't tell me the new GM is a flip flopper as well...stand your ground. The NBA doesn't need this to work. Just imagine what can happen when players just start saying hey i wanna play _________ so i'll just force my way there...

I really hope we did not get Otis version 2 in Hennigan. I think he is smarter than just giving in to Dwight. Who knows, maybe he is finding out what Brooklyn had left that they are willing to trade as a 3rd team. Maybe they don't get Dwight but they are still involved in a Dwight trade

No way Alex went to interview this guy, asked him what his rebuild plan was and Rob answered, "The way Otis was going to do it." No way!

I dont know if any of these rumors of talks between the magic and nets are true but if Rob takes that deal he will make the worst move of the decade, that deal is garbage, if the package the nets are sending is lopez, humpries and brooks we better get picks until 2027.

Does anybody know what teams will have enough cap space to sign dwight to a max in 2013?

Did anyone see ESPN.com's first story: "Sources: Howard going to Nets in trade."

Really? Wow, they want this to happen, BAD.

I think this is a ploy of the Nets trying to get Deron Williams to sign with them, or Hennigan telling other teams improve you`re offers and is using the Nets as leverage.
Smart / Micic / D. Wright
Wiggins / Exum / J. Adams
Parker / K. Anderson / Mcdermott
Randle / Vonleh / Stokes
Embiid / Nurkic/ Tavares

My friend told me this morning that he heard on the radio that Houston has pulled themsevles away from the trade talks because Dwight said he wouldn't sign long-term there.

People need to relax with the Hennigan hate. Dwight purposely told the nation that he would only sign long-term with Brooklyn which essentially eliminated teams like Houston or Golden State from giving us attractive offers for him. Dwight is essentially giving us all the middle finger on the way out the door. He's truly a POS.

They're probably using each other.

Much like the Nets and DEN used each other to drive up NYK's offer.

It makes no sense for us to balk at the offer just 3 days ago, and now all of a sudden be more willing to take it.

Hopefully, Rob is trying to tget the Lakers to bite.

Damn.....

I don't get it, they were so gungho about renting him just a few days ago. What changed?

WTF is going on??

Agreed. If other teams are basically pulling away because Howard won't sign long term, then Rob really has no choice.

Of course I would make the Nets take Duhon, JRich and Hedo with Howard, plus ask for 5 1st rounders.

Yes, he said he'd only sign with the Nets. But the Nets can no longer afford him. Other teams know this. I hope we can get a better deal than this somewhere else.

more first rounders! nets could afford it becuase they would win multiple championships with the team they are assembling

someone posted a while back that the magic could theoretically send dallas 38 mil and take back 5 mil. i think a tank and full rebuild mode is the way to go. fu bk nets for leaking out these rumors. wasnt that henny comes from fo that was extremely tight lipped. so this might be otis jr. way of forcing hennys hand.

People must know that Rob has no choice to take Brooklyn's package because Dwight purposely made it so that we couldn't get nothing in return for him by announcing he wasn't going to sign long-term with anybody but Brooklyn.

This is Dwight's fault, not Rob's.

That's what I'm saying.

What's he going to do? I honestly feel like he's pushing this hard out of desperation. Don't give in, Rob.

Who has capspace next season that would still be relevant? ATL? Then trade him for Horford/Teague.

There is absolutely no reason for us to consider this BKN deal. I just have to hope Hennigan is using them.

plus if we keep him on the roster, there will always be some team that will want him for a rental if they are pushing for a title.

Plus those picks, which are the best part of Nets deal, are not going away any time soon, so we can wait around and see what is up before sending dwight away.

PLUS, by tomorrow dwight will be wearing his loyaly shirt again.

This is all starting to happen too smoothly for the Nets. I smell tampering. It is like it was all agreed upon a while ago. Nets get JJ and Dwight.

Wait, they need a PF. Lets give them BBD and Ryno too while we keep Hedo, Duhon and JRich.
