Ha wow must not have watched any portland games last year. Lin was more aggressive and way better conditioned. He is not the same player when he was with knicks.

Problem is he doesn't want that MLE. He wants us to do a sign and trade with Portland to get paid more money, just like Nash.

Who said he'd be backing up Lin? I'm almost positive he'll come here to be the starter and if he isn't by opening night then he will be at some point during the season. Woodson is not sold on Lin.

And he's sold on Fatman? There's literally nothing Felton does better than Lin at this point. Except maybe bitching for more minutes.

Ur basketballknowledge seems to be garbage.. guys Luke u just have their opinion and never change it. so idont argue with you right now

For the last month Felton was with us, his shot had fallen back to his career average and the pick and roll became far less effective. The team began to slip and was on the verge of it's first losing month in a few months...it was trending downward, as were Felton's numbers.

In his time since playing for the Knicks, Felton has been awful. He let himself get out of shape, he was a disgruntled player and his numbers reflected these issues. The fact that he let his attitude and health impact his game in a contract year is disturbing to me. I don't believe that he'll just get back into the shape he was for us (which for all the fat jokes, dude was running some ridiculous mpg which show he was game at the time) and even if he did I'd be a bit concerned about his streaky shooting. We'd have two inconsistent jump shooting PG's to man the spot all game. I'm not comfortable with that.

If he'll come here for low pay and without any promise of starter minutes, it seems as if Felton is our best option at backup point guard, whatever his faults. He'd only have to play like 15 minutes per game if Lin stays healthy. I don't know if Felton is okay with that though.

I liked the Knick version of Felton. I like the first year Bobcat version of Felton. I DO NOT like the fat, sulking, 2nd year Bobcat, Nugget, Portland version of Felton.

1st year Bobcat version of Felton and Knick version of Felton = starter with something to prove

2nd year Bobcat\Nugget\Blazer version of Felton = fat, disgruntled vet with poor play.

If I could GUARANTEE we'd get Felton 1.0 as a backup, I'd be all over it. I really liked him. Evidence shows that shows that Felton 2.0 is bloated and doesn't run as smoothely as the previous version.

Felton was like a poor man's Tim Hardaway when he was here. I think he'd be great again. He can play some 2 (played in Denver next to Lawson) next to Lin.

We desperately need a backup point and that particular free agent pool is drying up pretty quickly. If Felton is content with coming off the bench and puts down the red velvet cake, he can be a productive player for the Knicks. He’s not Steve Nash, but he’s not Toney Douglas either.

Exactly. This would be a good signing.

Despite having a horrible season with Portland Felton still averaged 11.4/6.5. Besides, I can't recall any FA PG with similar stats that would be within our financial reach.

Felton would be bad for team chemistry and attitude. Out of shape malcontent is not a good look for this team right now. Felton is the anti-Lin and I think he will destroy team chemistry.

People are acting like we're looking for a starting PG and are in a position to be picky about this... Like we don't have someone we'll be paying 4 yrs 30 mill for to start...

Felton would be a fine option to have as backup PG.... Considering last year we went into the season with TD STARTING, I don't know how Felton, a guy who performed pretty well starting here a couple years ago, is that bad to have playing minutes when Lin is taking a break....

If he's sucking it up, it'll be only for a few minutes throughout... If he's playing well, it'll be a big boost for the squad... And as most likely, if he's just so so it'll be what we're looking for while Lin is taking a breather - for the offense not to drop off... Haven't followed him lately, but he rarely missed games while here- which is something we'll need out of him as well.

I like the signing. But we do need a SG

If Kidd comes here how can he help besides helping to develop Lin and a few nice bounce passes and an occasional 3  Felton is a much better defender IMO.

he played with heart as a starter. where he knew he could and would be showcased in the #1 basketball market in the country.

Now? He'll come off the bench. Does he still play with the same fire and desire? Does he put up even more ill-advised shots because he's afraid of not maximizing his opportunities while he's spelling Lin for a little while?

Yeah, I really hope he doesn't continue his locker room malcontent ways he assumed after losing the starting gig like he did in Denver and Portland. We don't need a sulking backup PG, especially if he turns into a chucker trying to chuck his way into a starting gig.

Does anybody else remember Felton passing the ball to Amare only and freezing out Gallo? How about Felton jacking shots like he was a superstar? My biggest concern is how he would affect Lin's development and overall team chemistry. The only way I'd be happy with this is if we had Felton and Amare running the second team.

Hard to be excited about an out-of-shape Felts at this point after losing Nash, but ok.
Seems like Grunnie had Nash-Kidd-Felts as Plans A-C, which seems reasonable. We're on plan C.

Question is what assets we have to use to land Felts.
-Mini-MLE?
-S&T for TD, Gadz, and 3m (which we can only spend once per year)?
-Or maybe even, if Shawne's buyout isn't yet set, our full TD, Gadz, Jerome, Jorts, 3m package for Felts plus Shawne??

I'm not anti the Felton that was here. I'm anti the Felton that he became after leaving here. There's a reason Denver and Portland didn't keep him. People are expecting the return of the Felton he used to be. I'm wary of the Felton he's become now. Hopefully, he'll prove me wrong.
