Gortat possibly just lost a lot of money when Nash went to the Lakers. He has 2 more years on his current contract, then would be looking at a nice payday (nowhere near max) on his next contract. Without Nash inflated numbers Gortats payday probably won't be what he thought.

Whats with the GORTAT hate ?

Stupid image to post. Some here will never be satisfied.

I understand the 'concept, but not only is this a putdown to Gortat, it is one to Dragic and Marshall as well. . And if anything, the offensive load needed from our C will be lessened . Sure there will be fewer plays run for Marcin, butis not that a result from having more offensive options now ?

Ooops... am I jabbing a moderater?

BAN THIS GUY!

I do agree with you though. I expect to see more like 14/11 from Gortat.

In fact, should keep improving as an overall basketball player.

One thing that won't change.

Gortat's D, post moves, and 10 boards a game

Man, I hope his post 'moves' change! I agree, though. Gortat is a great player and keeper. Dragic needs a pick&roll target.

With Dragic, Beasley and (hopefully) Gordon on the team I`d be satisfied with 12.5/10 from Gortat.

Gortat has some solid post moves and is fairly good on the boards. I don't think he'll drop off so hard, if at all.

I agree, and Dragic was solid with assists after he started in Houston.

He averaged over 8.3 apg and had quite a few double digit assist games. Look at his game logs starting March 10th

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... elog/2012/

But it might be a positive if he drops a bit as he adjusts to Dragic though so he won't cost as much to keep in two years. If we max out all our cap space to sign more reserve-type players, we may not want to get into luxury tax to keep him, and then we will have a big hole at center.

Are you sure we got one? I thought I read that if you were under the cap when you trade a player to a team using the TPE, you don't get the TPE.

Would have thought with all the cap holds and existing exceptions (MLE, BIE etc) we certainly would be over until we start waiving them. Which we won't do until we need to.

Ya know, this board is always talking about Paul Milsap and how the Jazz are eventually gonna have to do something with him. We now have a boat load of picks to try to facilitate that plus an expiring in Warrick!! Talk about a banger/dirtworker down low to put with Dragic and Beasly, as well as a legit Pf. for the pick and roll with Dragic and Marshall!! Dude is a BEAST!!! and standing in the way of Favors developement. He is going into his last year and will be unrestricted, do they think he will just stay and re-up, or do you thiink they would want something for him?

Frye, plus the 2 laker first picks....... If we are still holding out for Gordon and are scared to sent those picks, we will still have our First next year, plus Warrick expiring and Lopez sign and trade, I wouldnt give them too much more, the 2 ronders maby. If not they can keep Grdon. If so you got Dragic, Gordon, Beasly, Milsap, Gortat

That would be so cool to have identical twins playing together. I'm pretty sure Houston probably already offered Morris to you guys for 1 of the Lakers picks but Suns are waiting to see what NO wants for Gordon in a sign and trade.

You won't get him with Warrick.....

What about

Frye and Dudley for Marvin, and Milsap? Frye could be the stretch 4 off the bench the Jazz could certainly use, and Dudley the glue guy 6th man.

I kind of wonder how high the Jazz are on Favors at this point. Watching him play, he reminds me of a raw Al Jefferson. He doesn't exactly exude dominance or even potential dominance offensively. Obviously Al is now a dominant player down low (19.2/9.6/1.7) but I wonder if they feel Favors can develop like that offensively.

Also, this is Jefferson's contract year. They may not want to max Jefferson next year, let him walk, and move Favors to center, resign Millsap at a more reasonable contract and save some cap room for a legit wing player.

I mean there is a reason Millsap is still around. The guy just maxes out his productivity. If they were sold on a Favors/Jefferson front line I think Millsap would be getting shopped heavily.

By the way - I'm sending the Lakers' 2013 1st to SAS for Blair yesterday.
