I hope they all end up in Miami.

It will make it sweeter when the Celtics shock the world and crush Lebron's dreams.

The Celtics are far from done yet.

So ridiculous.

Can't they also go the amnesty route with the often injured Mike Miller and sign LeBrons buddy OJ?

Seems like anything is possible with the heat as the salary cap means nothing to them. A sticking point about the lockout was the salary cap and about super teams. Unfortunately it is impossible to prevent any players for playing there for free.

Next time the NBA needs to get rid of the endless exceptions teams have and simply have a hard cap. Or just do away with the salary cap altogether. With the mentality of the average NBA player the system does not work and just continues to allow players to flock to the heat, Lakers or Knicks every year. Their current system is still helping out the big marker/warm weather teams.

Again, what was this lockout for?

There is a reason why football is the number one sport in this country. They get it. The NBA does not.

Anyway,

http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumo ... ref=fromSI

Once he signs July 11, Allen will give Miami 12 players under contract. And there's a decent chance Rashard Lewis becomes the 13th. Lewis is visiting Sunday, and now that Miami has given its $3.1 million exception to Allen, Lewis likely would not object to taking a minimum salary from the Heat --- unless another attractive team offers substantially more. Lewis has told associates that he's not hung up over salary because he's making $13.7 million in a Hornets buyout this coming season. He also has told associates that Miami very much appeals to him. Unless the Spurs and Knicks swoop in with a better offer, I like Miami's chances here. And the Knicks already have used their mid-level exception.

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_ ... ource-says

The 38-year-old unrestricted free agent will be meeting with the Miami Heat and then the New York Knicks this weekend, according to a source with knowledge of Camby's plans. Those two are viewed as the favorites to land the four-time blocks leader, who was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2007. Both teams need more of an interior presence, and for the Knicks, they don't have a proven and seasoned big man in their second unit locked up yet.

Am I wrong for thinking ray allen is a traitor for signing with his rival team the heat? Tell me what u think!!!!!!

Rondo treating him like dog $hit, your front office tried to trade him, and your coach benched him for avery freakin bradley. YOU are the ones that aren't loyal to him! That wasn't the team he was drafted by, and he was only there for 5 seasons, the 5th of which being the one you benched him. It's your teams fault for mis-treating him. Now quit being a bunch of b1tches and take last years and this next 4-5 years of beatings you will receive from us like a man.

While I do think that Ray has a right to leave.
1. Rondo treated him like he treats all of his other teammates, if Ray can't take that then his fault. Plain and simple
2. I don't think you know how pissed KG and Rondo will be, I know Rondo will try to destroy the Heat even more.. You don't want to face an angry Rondo and KG

You simply have to love the heat "fans" who signed up after July 8th.

You have no idea how Rondo treated him and from what I read Allen was being a diva. Allen was injured and missed some games so when Allen was out AB was put in the starting line up. The celtics played well during that time so Doc kept the lineup in place when Allen came back. Instead of Allen doing what was best for the team he got upset.

As for being traded. It is part of the business and it is exactly what you sign up for when you're paid million and millions of dollars a year.

I agree with most of your post except this part. Why is Ray Allen being criticized for lack of loyalty, if the Celtics were about to trade him? Why isn't the front office getting criticized?

Trading is part of how the CBA is setup.

Moving over to the rivals is not.

It's in the CBA that unrestricted free agents can go wherever they want, right?

Unrestricted free agent. Not unrestricted (other than Miami and the Lakers) free agent.

Bobio he is being critized for going to the heat more than anything else. He spit in the celtics and their fans by going there. That is why people are upset.

Props to my girl Sami on that nickname. It was something she liked to say when Ray would attempt that random pass that was casually intercepted by the defense... that would leave you... just scratching your head.

So one cheer for Gay Allen everyone!

Thanks for the memories!

Ray Allen did the right thing

Post#437 » by return2glory » Sat Jul 7, 2012 5:32 pm

I hear a lot of fans saying screw you Ray. Really? Why?

You can't fault Ray from leaving the Celtics. Ray Allen was not wanted in Boston anymore, not as much as he was wanted in Miami. You go where you are wanted and appreciated more, that's human nature.

Ray Allen was nearly traded. Ainge messed up by not going through with the trade because Ray' pride was already hurt. Ray gave everything he had to the Celtics while he was here. Even in the playoffs last season, Ray gave it his all. He played hurt while he was playing on an expiring contract.

People talk about Karma, well the Celtics tried to trade Ray and Ainge didn't pull the trigger and never smoothed things out with Ray. Now Ray is gone, but on his terms. Whatever you want to say, the bottom line is Ray Allen is somewhere where he is wanted more. If the Celtics wanted Ray, Wyc, Ainge, Doc, KG, Pierce, Rondo, Jeff Green, Brandon Bass would have gotten on a plane to Miami and told Ray we are here for you and want you to be a part of this team. That would have gotten Ray back in Boston. That didn't happen. Good for Ray. I would have done the same thing.

^ What else could the Celtics possibly have done? Doc reportedly tried to smooth things over between him and Rondo and Ray wanted no part of it. Danny offered him twice the amount of money the Heat offered and a no-trade clause as well., and he still went to our worst enemies. Even worse, this all happened right after KG and Pierce played their hearts out in Miami back in June.

Also, why is the media making out the Ray trades like he was the only one on the trade block? Did everyone forget how Rondo nearly got traded every single summer up till this point? What about Pierce, who almost was traded for the Net's first round pick during the trade deadline? Rondo responded to the trades by having a near MVP season and a playoff run for the history books. Ray responded by skipping town and joining South Beach. It's funny how the so called immature player managed to suck it up and play while the veteran couldn't.

It's also funny how over the years Ray was made out to be a consummate professional who was unselfish and would do anything to win. Now its becoming clear that he may have had the biggest ego on our team. He couldn't handle being benched by Bradley, even though his bone spurs limited him so much that he shot 19% from three and 60% from the free throw line. He couldn't handle that Rondo was emerging start and he couldn't handle that he was the only member of the Big 3 not willing to put trust in this young player.

There's absolutely no way I cheer for this guy when he takes that first step back into the Garden. He took the concept of Ubuntu and threw it out the window to join LeBron and Wade and proved that he was a phony the entire time. He never was the unselfish player that Pierce and KG were and he'll never see his jersey # hanging from the rafters with the rest of the Big 3. Good riddance.
