I really want the 11th to come already.

Everything we have is just a verbal agreement.....people can change their minds ;/

Has anyone read this http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/07/08/2 ... t-has.html

There is a paragraph with them talking about in game rotation in the backcourt where you have Wade and Allen at the G positions. How f'in good is that!

The possibilities are SCARY with the pieces in Pat is putting place this off season, you can take Wade and Bron out during a game and still have a crazy lineup that can put points up against anyone.

Cleveland and Toronto were going into rebuild mode and needed picks/assets in return to speed that process along, and also knew that it would be awhile before they were competing with Miami again.

Boston thinks they can beat us in the playoffs next year. They're reloading. They're not going to do anything to help out a rival.

the more i think about it and i'm wondering if cole will see the floor a lot next year. ray or wade can't play the 3. i could see ray, wade and chalmers are playing in the low 30s as far as minutes go.

Spot minutes.

There are 96 minutes at guard. If Wade plays only 30 of them, that still leaves 66. Chalmers averaged 28.5 mpg last season...let's say that stays the same. And give 30.5 to Wade just for ease. That's 59 of those 96 minutes. 37 left over for all our other guards. Allen played 34 mpg last season...let's say thats 29 here. That leaves all of 8 minutes.

And you have to think if JJ and Mike Miller are both back and healthy, some games they'll get those minutes, depending on matchups.

Assuming we have Cole on the roster next year, I would guess he gets more minutes early in the season to keep Wade/Allen fresh. As the season wears on though he becomes a purely situational player, like how he was used in the playoffs (he only played in 19 of our 23 games, and I could easily see that number being less)

You mentioned Keyon Dooling...

last I remember of this guy, was his final game with us way back sometime ago, I don't remember which year it was.

He was always pissed that he wasn't getting enough playing time, oh wait was it Damon Jones he was playing behind? anyway, he came into the game in the 4th quarter, with an angry pissed off look on his face and wouldn't pass the ball and just took it to the hole a few times and made some layups.

He then ran away from us in free agency, don't remember which team  I'm thinking magic

how's his game nowadays?

I was shocked.

Danny Ainge really mismanaged their stars.

If we get Lewis but can't get Camby too, which of these players would you rather get for the vet min?

1.Turiaf (let's say he doesn't get big money offers)
2.Kenyon Martin (might want to join us, still a very good defender, mobile)
3.Kyrylo Fesenko (i really dont like him, but he's the biggest, and was talked about in this thread)

You know what's funny - when you look at the actuall per36 stats - Joel's numbers are almost identical to Camby's - exept for rebounds. I'll even give Joel the the edge in overall defense. he's quicker.

Denfensive rebounding in particular are the only major differnce. Camby is not a better offensive player, he's not a better defender or shot blocker, and he's not that much better at offensive rebounds either. Defnsive rebounds are the only major factor. We really need to work with Joel on that aspect of his game, i think he could improve that. we also need to remember that Joel is playing next to some good rebounders in Wade and LBJ.

In any case, the point is this : Camby at this stage is really NOT that much of an upgrade over Joel, when you consider all the factors like age, playing time and injuries. both of them are decent bench guys.

Id like to have Turiaf back (let's hope he doesn't get any good offers) but im also hoping we'll be pleasantly surprised by one of our young bigs in summer league. if one steps up and shine, that's all we'll need.

Justin Hamilton - probably has decent offensive game with his nice jumper, but a question mark on defense and rebounding.

Jarvis Varnado - probably a decent defender, question mark on his rebounding and offensive game.

Dexter Pittman - probably could be decent on offense around the rim with his good hands and could probably be a rebounder too, but his speed and defensive game is a question mark.

If just one of them can become a decent 2 way player with a decent all-around game - we're set.
