Well Barca began low-balling Vazquez over the past few weeks with a 1.2 million Euros per season ($1.5 million) offer that he rejected. Only having one year of that proposal guaranteed didn't have him doing backflips either. Vazquez isn't a youngster anymore. The 29-year-old is peaking as a player and Fran's looking for security in still remaining with one of Europe's most successful basketball franchises. Vazquez would ideally want over $1.5 million per season and have 2 or more years guaranteed on whatever contract he signs. Whether that'll be in Spain or Orlando is the main question. Unicaja and Real Madrid are extremely interested in the center's services. But whatever proposal is offered can be matched by Barcelona. So what makes this a favorable scenario for Orlando? Fran hates Head Coach Xavi Pascual and in the past few hours it's been rumored that Barcelona won't exercise their right to match any offer thrown at Fran. Game-changer. The relationship is severely damaged and I'm sure Vazquez and his representatives would appreciate a clean slate across the Atlantic Ocean where our new coaching staff still hasn't been selected yet. Also, Barcelona is rebuilding their frontcourt to make a run at dominating Euroleague again. I'm still celebrating Olympiakos' improbable victory and European crown. We're not the only ones pressing the reset button.

Ah, I was wondering where the extra web hits were coming from. OMagicDaily is a popular tweeter, but not THAT popular.

If we really want Fran, he's there for the taking before other Spanish sides swoop in for the picking.

I thought it was you, couldn't remember though. Good article with stuff I'd not really had the time to research and hear. I hope we do sign him just to bring closure to us.

What makes the most sense is a 3 team deal:

Cleveland in:
Bynum

LA in:
Howard
bad contract

Orlando in:
Tristan Thompson
Zeller
Walton
Cavs 2013 1st
Cavs 2013 1st (from LAL)
LA 2014 1st
LA 2016 1st
LA 2018 1st

I think Henny is just sitting back, leaking info here and there, and getting these teams to increase bids. There is no way he takes that Nets offer. I really strongly believe he is just trying to conjure up some better offers, as well as Fegan and his people doing shady crap to try to push something through. Its a little bit of both

LA Traded their picks for Nash....

And if we deal with LA in anyway, we're getting Bynum. Point blank,

That trade does not suck. Tank City b*** tank tank city! I'd still prefer a Houston offer. But flipping Bynum for picks is not a terrible idea with his injury history

chadfordinsider Not so far fetched RT @fivethirtyeight: Sources: Magic accidentally deal Dwight Howard to themselves in 26-team trade.

Lakers wouldn't take a bad contract back with Dwight if they are only giving out Bynum, they are already so far over the cap.

if Orlando is so keen on dumping a bad contract they should just reconfigure a three team deal with the Lakers instead of doing it with the Nets.
