UD's given up too much for the team. We can't do him like that because he had a bad year. PEACE.

I would give Haslem another shot.

He came into a lock out year after not playing basketball for so long. Heck, even had a special moment in the ECF that time. His shot was off. It was rough on the team to play almost every night too. This year I expect us to be more healthy actually, and more in rhythm. Then again I can see us falling off somewhere in the season when they want the playoffs to start

He has had his moments WHERE HE HAS WON US GAMES.

I expect his shot to be more automatic this year. Heck, I expect our team to be better overall because it's more playing time, more practice, etc. More chemistry too.

Whether or not you watched Haslem play last season should have been the question. Obviously not. He came to life and had a few moments in the playoffs, but overall his play last year shouldn't get any better than a C grade. C+ maybe if you want to be "loyal" rather than "ignorant" LOL!

Also, I don't know where you get the "he's not your type of guy" garbage from. Never insinuated that at all. I'm just a guy who is all about improving the team at all costs. I'm a Heat fan before I'm a players fan.

Unless Howard rapes Riley's mama, he ain't getting traded dude. Do you not know how Riley works?

Mahinmi would be an interesting target but I can see Dallas offering a higher value 1 year deal to retain him. He's not at the stage of his career where winning is most important.

Anyone else curious about how our guard/forward rotation is gonna work?

At a guess (RS only):

C/PF Joel (20) / Bosh (34) / Haslem (20) / Rashard (14) / Turiaf & Pittman (8)
SF LeBron (34) / Battier (14) / Rashard (?) / Jones (?)
SG Wade (30) / Allen (18) / Miller (?)
PG Chalmers (30) / Cole (18)

I can certainly see Varnado being added, but Miller will struggle to crack the rotation, Jones is limited anyway, and guys like Rashard, Battier, Allen will be getting way less minutes than they're used to. Depth isn't a bad thing, but I'm curious how it will work out.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Can't see Joel averaging 20 mins a game.

He's averaged 19.5 and 21.1 in the last two seasons, and if anything our front line is weaker.

Joel will get his minutes

There are a lot more bad teams than good teams in the NBA

PLUS heat usually get big leads

Btw can we stop with the Varnado talk, let's be serious. He will be a cheerleader if he joins

We played Joel because we never really had a reliable big. He is also our shot blocker basically.

I was shocked Joel didn't play in the Finals.

But during the season I can see Joel playing, especially against certain teams. Against a heavy pick and roll team I can see Joel getting minutes.

But then one night Spo might decide to spread the floor, which Joel obviously doesn't do. It's how we won the FInals anyway. Everyone on our floor had to be guarded. OKC just couldn't keep up and it rained 3's.

Why does "Vertical Limit" have to been an "ignorant fan" because he disagrees with you? If you feel he is an ignorant fan because he believes that UD STAYS, then what is Pat Riley for keeping him?

Do you even know what UD means to this franchise? - Just to fill the roster with "players of your choice" it does seam like you guys play these video games and fantasy leagues and come up with these ridiculous trade ideas. I mean no disrespect to you cause I don't know you, but to call another poster "ignorant" gets to me, you don't even know that guy.

You probably were one of those fans that wanted wade traded because he only scored 5 points in one of those finals games.

I know you weren't talking to me, but your post stood out to me...

I get this feeling that anyone willing to trade Haslem for anyone other than Dwight howard became a Heat fan after 2009.

Maybe Im wrong, but thats how I feel.

We just come off our best Championship where everyone that played contributed, are currently getting ready to sign one of the best shooters in the game, followed by a great stretch 4 all without having to even consider our core or role players.

Now all of a sudden we need to trade one of our mainstays for a guy who has done NOTHING for this franchise just because he MAY or MAY NOT fit a position.

You don't TRADE a guy who sacrificed financially TWICE for your team, you just don't. I have nothing more to say about this.

5.Darko (if gets amnestied)
6.Joel Przybilla
7.Jordan Hill (not likely)

Dalembert, Okafor and Ian Mahinmi might also be available but we'll need to give up assets and trade for them.

A guy like okafor would be a perfect fit for this team. If we are able to make a run at him that has to be first priority. Kenyon martin would also be a nice addition. It would also be funny to land Darko and have 4 of the first 5 picks.

Lets be honest, Haslem, Miller, and anthony are all guys that we should be looking to move. I know a lot of people on here hate bringing Haslem into the discussion, but if we can get someone to take his contract we should make the move asap. He is no longer a part of our rotaion, and with our limited finiancial assets we can not be paying an undersized big who gives us nothing in most games.

I dont see us ever moving UD, but Miller and joel will definitely be gone if they could help us land a decent Center.
Okafor didnt look that great lately, he seems to slow down.
Ian Mahinmi is a nice player but im not sure he's tough enough and his D is suspect.

Im really not sure which of these names should be our first option. i think im still leaning towards Dalembert, a proven rebounder and defender with size that can score some as well.

Those saying to trade Haslem or Wade must be the bandwagoners. Seriously, they're Heat players for life, have done so much for the franchise. GTFO with that already. They're here to stay.

Dalembert just got traded to Milwaukee so were not gonna be able to get him, at least not til midseason

^ I know we're talking about a trade, not a FA signing. whatever, as long as we get the Center we need before the playoffs.

I agree.

It was even worse a few months ago during the playoffs. I saw some people saying trade Dwyane Wade.

  Wade retires in Miami even if he plays on one leg. Him and Haslem aren't going anywhere.

Has there been any news on when Allen and Lewis are going to be introduced?
