This isn't necessarily highway robbery. They erase every bad move Otis ever made. And we strip them of all their youth and picks. But this is equally a very good move for the Rockets.
The Rockets, with BBD, will have a pretty good team. And they'll be in great position to build the contender I always thought we would. CLee and BBD's convincing of D12 to stay combined with the cap space to go get Josh Smith and Monta Ellis could have the Rockets talking deep playoff runs in 2013-2014. This is great move for both sides. I'm pretty sure they can buyout Hedo and Duhon at the end of the year too.
2012-2013-----------------------> 2013-2014
Brooks/Douglas---------------> Monta/Brooks
CLee/J-Rich-------------------> CLee/J-Rich
Hedo----------------------------> JSmoove
BBD/Morris--------------------> BBD/Morris
Dwight/D-Mo------------------> Dwight/D-Mo
Its not a good idea to trade baby, but if it allows us to get dwight's ass out then we do so right?

Orlando can just say "give us what we want, or you will have amnestied Scola for nothing," right?
Houston Fan made this point. What's your take on it?
I don't think Houston cares what the asking price is. They are ALL in.

Yeah gonna hate losing BBD, but it thats what it takes to get that kind of return im all for it. Still think a BBD/Coward front court would be one of the best in the league and wish we got to see more of it last year

Houston wouldn't have amnestied Scola if they didn't have to, meaning something has/is going down.

This could be also great deal for the Rockets. I think they have a big chance to keep him long term. He doesn`t want to be here for some reason, he can`t be a Net as well, so what options will he have in a 2013?

Said something like that earlier today, that they would basically give us whatever we wanted now they have made the commitment to go All-in

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXXVII Off-Season Editi
Need to clarify for all of us who are impatient ... the Dwight-to-Houston deal could take several days for the Rockets' previous offer sheets (to Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik) to resolve. Magic fans should be rooting hard for both to be matched by the original teams because those are dollars we want Houston to keep for absorbing Otis' bad contracts.
Here's what ESPN is reporting in the ORL-HOU deal ...
Houston gets:
Dwight Howard and 3 of the following: Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu, Glen Davis, Chris Duhon
The money involved with those four bad contracts makes it unlikely that Houston can absorb J-Rich AND Hedo, but Davis and Duhon are strong possibilities to go to Houston.
Orlando gets:
Kevin Martin, Patrick Patterson, Chandler Parsons, Marcus Morris, Jeremy Lamb, Royce White, Terrence Jones, multiple first-rounders (safe to assume Toronto's future first is in there)
Bottom line:
This is a no-brainer, but it probably won't happen tomorrow or this weekend. Also, the Rockets may look like they are bending over, but they are simply doing what they feel is necessary to acquire a top-5 player in the NBA.

I think they can still offer a max at the end of the season even after taking all those contracts, they are trying to pair CP3 with Dwight.

His contract sucks yo.
I thought his contract wasn't so bad for his production late in the season. Definitely a good on the floor leader too.
I'll play devil's advocate. While the HOU offer is undoubtedly tough to pass up, if LA counters with Gasol/Bynum for BBD/D12, which do you take?

I think the article said they would file the paperwork Friday, so I guess when the league office opens it will happen.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.

Steve Francis was actually really good when he first got here before we traded his BFF at the trade deadline. I think his first year here, he was our only real player (dwight was an 18 year old rookie, not much of a player yet) and yet he still averaged something like 21/7/6

+1
I think Rockets fans should rejoice. They probably just don't realize how good of a chance they have of keeping D12, especially if BBD is sent there with him.
They'll have a great opportunity to build a contender in 2013.
