This could be also great deal for the Rockets. I think they have a big chance to keep him long term. He doesn`t want to be here for some reason, he can`t be a Net as well, so what options will he have in a 2013?

Next summer he can force a S@T with Nets for Lopez or walk to Dallas for free. Not our problem anymore.

His contract sucks yo.

I thought his contract wasn't so bad for his production late in the season. Definitely a good on the floor leader too.

I'll play devil's advocate. While the HOU offer is undoubtedly tough to pass up, if LA counters with Gasol/Bynum for BBD/D12, which do you take?

Rockets for sure.

S&Ts are illegal for tax teams next summer, Dwight can't go to Brooklyn unless he signs for the MLE

DOnt think so, i think the ONLY way he can go to the nets is for the MLE. I think there is new rule where you cant sign and trade a player to a team that is already over the cap (not sure what level)

Another thing to keep in my when you're wondering why the Rockets would do all of this ... the team that has Howard's rights can offer him like $30 million more than he could get as a free agent. With the Nets out of the picture, Houston figures they'd have a great shot at keeping him. Then this deal looks great for them, too, because they'd have a superstar to build around.

From what I read, they got rid of Scola to make room for the extra contracts the Magic want to send back. So basically they would send us picks, young players, possibly Martin for Hedo, Howard and JRich. Sounds good to me and is exactly what Rob was working for.

If this trade gets done we are contenders in a season from now with 2 picks in TOP 10 draft and cap to add 2 max players.

Regardless to whether houston trade for dwight or not, amnestying scola would be a good move. If tgey dont get dwight, just means they have more cap for next offseason, and can target two star fa's instead of one.

Looking more at this deal, it's too good to pass up on. Didn't want to part with BBD, but them including Morris and Patterson compensates for it.

Here's what's interesting. If that deal is legit, we've got a lot of players on our roster and some possible log jams at some positions, mostly the forward spots. I imagine us dealing some of these assets.

It's a great trade but no. In fact, HELL NO. Please tell me which free agents you want to give max contracts to in 2013 or 2014?

I hate that we're going to have to wait until Lin's and Asik's deals are resolved. This possible deal has me too excited.

It's like letting a chick you just started dating getting you all "excited"...and then she says it's too soon in the relationship.

Orlando fans left with blue balls tonight.

If this goes thru, my 2 favorite team are going to be the Magic and anyone playing the Raptors.

In 2013 there will be Bynum, Howard and Paul. Ellis, Iggy, Smith, Jefferson will be middle of the road (12 million plus).

In 2014, well let me see. Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Kobe, Gay, Dirk, I could go on and on. Of course IMO most of these guys will reup with their current teams, but they will be FAs.
