That idiot shouldn't even be getting the max, he is just some chucking loser.

Yes they are the same player. One has played in the league many of years. Been to many of all-star games. Been on all NBA teams. Lead a team to the conference finals. 2 time starter on a gold medal winning team.

While the other played 20 games.....And sat out the playoffs when we had no back court and he was 85%

I see how they should be paid the same.

Knicker23 wrote:haha this is such bs. You're looking for reasons to complain and blame and Melo will fit the bill..

His comment was a knock against Houston offering a poison pill and putting the knicks in a bad spot. Did he say "Lin is not worth that money man, that's too much" -- it's not the same.. Him giving high praise to Lin, with Dolan already having chosen not to match, would not only be worthless it would come across poor to fans......

Lin took NY for granted from a financial standpoint and it seems it has backfired.

It's not just the comment. Melo needs to speak up. That's what stars do. Kobe threw a fit when the Lakers traded Odom; that's what Melo needs to do to keep my loyalty.

Good for Lin. I'm really happy for him. Now he'll have the freedom to be what he's capable of being. And he'll have fans and teammates that appreciate him. 8-)

I just have 1 question ---

Can we do a sign and trade with Houston?

Lin has played in ~30 games this year.

He was "85%" but didn't play in the playoffs.

You want to give him 14 mil in his third year of the contract?

And then I read several posts bashing Chandler.

To be fair that's only ever been uttered by Melo and repeated by Stephen A. Smith. When Lin was asked, he said he didn't know about it but appreciated it (assuming it's true). Both D'Antoni and Grunwald denied it.

Lin confirmed it on the radio. Also MDA wanted to send Lin and Jordan to the D-League because they were not part of the plans.

If we pass on Lin and this team falters people will be calling for them to burn the building down.

The media is spinning it like Lin is going to suffer from not playing in NY... How? He's still making his money and he's still going to be playing basketball for a living.

He did no such thing. He said he appreciated it under the assumption that it was true. He didn't know firsthand whether it really happened or not. Go back to the audio and the transcript. I've read and listened to it multiple times. The first time he was ever asked about it he said he never knew that until afterward (when it was reported).

I think he'd turn MSG into a morgue. Knicks would be a depressing and unholy team.

That said, it does sound like Lin acted a weasel. But you put that aside and do the right thing for the team.

I sympathize a little with Dolan. But not enough to excuse this. Completely unacceptable decision here.

Dolan is acting childish here. If basketball is a business then it goes both ways, you make the right business decision and move on with it.

People killing Melo like always when **** hits the fan... The same guy who played most of the season hurt, yet Linderella wouldn't play in the playoffs because he was only 85%.. F..... outta here. Lin's act is getting tiring.. Go to Houston & be mediocre

A little late to the party but can someone fill me in on this whole melo calling lins contract ridiculous. Wondering what the exact quote is, since media love blowing things like this out of proportion. Thanks

Melo earned his money? Not even close. Melo is one of the biggest underachievers of all-time and I really doubt he'll get any better. I personally did want Lin to leave NY when FA started but not for the Rockets.

I think it just goes to show you that Melo was jealous and bitter as hell when Linsanity was hot.

Like I said, I admit that I will have no associates with your franchise if it weren't for Lin but I would root against this team probably forever if Lin doesn't come back.

Houston ain't New York. No one will care if he goes through a few weeks of great stats, or where that team goes like they would the Knicks.. And I doubt the off the court stuff is as nearly lucrative as what NY brings.

Does this really preclude us from signing Lin? We now have one more valuable asset (Felton) that we can package in a trade before the deadline Or, if Felton plays well, we can trade Lin.

Dont see how anything changes.
